| | I can't agree more with a couple of the previous posts in this thread. The website looks pretty yucky. I just looked in the directory of hosted sites there, quite a few had banner adverts.
If you want any, .tk is the best. Remember though that sites like these frame your sites, meaning some browsers (older browsers) may be unable to view your content.

They probably changed their system over time... However, their ads are still awful, just look at this test account: http://www.trap17.net.tc/It has an ugly banner on the left side that completely ruins the website... The CLOSE button works this time, but when you click it, the page refreshes and a popup appears  The top toolbar is gone (thank God!) BTW: I was not talking about the design of the site, but about some of the nice features that are offered at first site.

there are a small service for giving you free Top level domain. like freewebtalk.com if you want to got really free domain you can go there.but you must active in forum. if you want to free subdomain there are alot of and the best subdomain and hosting i ever seen is trap17. i think you are beeing cheated about free domain.if you try that service your site will be slower.so be patient for getting your free domain ( really your's)

That's weird? I just recently signed up at smartdots.com, and it's fine, and there's no banner or popups or any ads. Check it out; starryillusion.net.tc, I just don't like it so much anymore because I can't check where my visitor came from.

I am actually very impressed. This is an actual no strings attached domain service. The only problem that I see is the fact they only offer redirection. Even though it is free without any catch it still does not look that good if you ask me.
