I also try to stay away from ads, except the general 88x31 buttons, but even then they have to be representable, and not take away from my site (like those flashing ones)

I don't mind them ^^ as long as they don't load everytime. Like they if I don't cut them and just minimize them, they don't re-open everytime I go to another trap17 page.

Most people that are very familiar with a computer will use a pop-up blocker indeed, but people who barely understand a computer but do use it to surf te web and stuff don't even know (that's what I think) what a pop-up blocker is. So when pop-ups are used on a site like this (with lot's of "nerds"/people who are very familiar with a computer) it's not even worth it, because most of them are blocked. Above all, pop-ups lower the chance that a visitor will ever return.

I preffer banners, they are more clear and with services like Google Adsense you can put the banner acording the desing of your site, and like some people said most people block pop ups

strange... i got a popup on the trap17 forum homepage. btw i think the new horizontal ads they dont annoy you when you read a post.
@bexa instead if pressing [X] press Alt + F4 or use Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc in case you didn't know )

popups can be really annoying buh u can try something else to increase ur earnings...like have some rule like if u ad the trap17 advertisement in ur website..u will get a bit more space or some deal like dat tht will attract more users..

POPUPS...
the most irritating thing on the net for me is popups. i hate them. it always disturbs us. we are doing one thing they come suddenly in the screen so i hate them. i think more then 705 people dont like popups. i always use popup killer to get rid of those damn things.
