It does a lot of damage to the electric bills, about 50 bucks or something like that. Save money where you can!

One of the things about your CPU is that when its running it gets really hot when its off it gets nice a cool again as soon as it goes back on it gets hot again ... anything that fluxates temperature like that all the time is gonna wear out faster so i just leave my compy on all the time I would rather foot the electric bill then have to go through the whole angsty process of finding a pimp new CPU and adding the thermal paste and heatsinks and all of that but then again i am pretty lazy

my computer is on 24/7 since i have an internet broadband connection, i have installed antivir, and it often bother me asking to deny acces to a drivero or something like that. I use bearshare to download movies software, music, games, cracks, and... so on, and i never have problems with it. about the bill, i don't know how much it consumes but i think the difference before i have an internet broadband connection is not too much, so i don't care about it, and in the mornings i enjoy the placement of having new music, movies, soft, and all that makes me happy. About the temperature, i live in a cold city, so i don't care about it too, but i think i should buy a better fancing system, so that's all, bye!

its not bad to turn on your computer 24/7 as long as it has proper fan system. I mean, your cpu of course must have a fan and besides cpu fan our casing too. If it has no fan leave it open then  i dont think that electric bill is an issue since computer realy does not eath a lot of power, but if you connect an amplifier and a big speaker thats a different story.. so its not bad leaving your computer on 24/7

I have my computer on most times, but only if it needs to do something, otherwise I switch it off and use energy saving settings. And with regard to energy saving, I read a statistic once, that if a population of 4 million households would not use their stand-by buttons on televisions and video recorders, it would put one nuclear power-station out of business It is not just the individual energy we consume, it is also what the combined effect does to the environment. So, switch off early and often. It does not harm the computer either way, but it will make the live of your grandchild, that more bearable.

It does rack up some $$$ if you leave it on. I sometimes turn it of but, then again I'll sometimes just turn the monitor and sound off. I don't think its really BAD for your computer, but I think you should give it a rest every other day.

I always leave my computer 24/7 becouse I use eMule  Afcourse I turn it off if I go somewhere more then three days and if I lose internet conection

Decent Computer
for £250 (7) Hi, it's my birthday at the beginning of May (8th), and I expect to get roughly £250 or $500. I

Can't Start Up My Computer
(6) I can't start up my computer. When I switch it on, it just goes to a blank screen, or sometimes,
it will go to the Blue Screen of Death, and the message on it changes every time, so I don't
even know how to solve it. I've gotten the Page Fault In Non Paged Area error a couple of times.
I tried to boot my computer from my Windows XP Service Pack 1 CD, but after running it and repairing
Windows XP, the problem isn't solved. I've also tried to start my computer from safe mode
but it still shows the BSOD. I don't even know how it happened. I didn'....
Windows Explorer Crashes Consistantly [resolved]
closes itself down after leaving on for a few minutes (7) This is a constant problem whenever I try sorting my files, suddenly Windows Explorer shuts itself
down by calling in Dr. Watson. Then restarts and repeats again after awhile. It doesn't happen
all the time, but the crash problem comes frequently and I have no idea how to diagnose the problem.
Appreciate the help. If any of this should be of useful info, I'm still using Windows XP Pro
Edition SP1 and using IE 6 (not intending to update this because of complaints i get from other

Computer restarting while playing games (7) I have read in a lot of forums about the importance of this component. And with regards to my
problem of the computer restarting while playing games, this could very well be the reason but I
can't confirm anything. When I bought my graphics card Winfast A6200 TD, a minimum of 400w

Widescreen Computer Display
Is it better? (7) What do you think of the widescreen display laptops are beginning to adopt nowadays? Is that the
right way to go? Or should we stick to our original display (800 * 600, 1024 * 768 ... etc) instead
of (1280 * 800). For me I think these widescreen display should be the way to go, it allows you
more space to do your stuff especially if you are doing some image editing, and that requires a huge

Strange Thing Happened To My Computer

PC Randomly Crashes And Hangs, Ideas? (16) I recently got a new computer, a NEC i-Select D5410. A few days ago it started to randomly crash,
