| | Hey everyone, I just heard about this Killer Network Interface Card and the whole NPU difference thing and all. Id like to know if anyone has this or knows if its any good. You see, I figure it has about a 1250mb transfer rate on it but the website www.killernic.com/killernic wont say the transfer rate, but what it does say is the difference in ping and such. One of my friends told me about a video experiment someone did with it and it actually worked really well and dropped the ping. So what im asking is, is it a get or no get? Yay or nay? |

Hmm, this seems interesting. I was checking out their website and they claim a 41% improvement in FPS in World of Warcraft using Killer and a 23% improvement in FPS for F.E.A.R. That seems like a pretty big deal considering the fact that some people will spend a TON on a new graphics card to get that kind of FPS increase on such big games. This makes you think, how does this card actually work? I mean I'd have to give it a shot before I said "ehh, I dont believe how this could cause such a great improvement, it seems like total bullsh*t" haha. But if it is reducing pings, imagine what it would do if everyone on a gameserver was using one of these Killer NIC's. Have to check it out, pretty steep price though for a NIC, shows that its like 250 bucks on Zip zoom fly.

Help With Network Topology

Hello. I have a school requirement in my data communications subject and I'm currently lost.
It’s supposed to be a client-server model proposal for a hospital here in my city. I’m clueless
with regards to computer networks and the hardware specs required for it. I have tried reading
books about it but I’m still not quite sure about the PROPER network TOPOLOGY to be used in the kind
of set up the hospital has. I don’t know any network administrators besides my teachers so I was
hoping to come across with a few here. I just need OPINIONS regarding the kind of ARC...
