Yesterday, Invision Power Board version 2 was installed on my site. I just created some forums for it, but for some reason, no one can see them (Not even me). I logged onto the Admin part, and it showed the forums. I was also getting PHP errors, but I'm not getting those anymore. I've even checked, and re-checked the permission settings, and it's set right. I've also looked all over the admin panel, and can't figure it out. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Are you sure you set up everything correctly? Did you create categories and place the forums into the desired categories?

Yes, it all was set up right. The forums are in the categories that I want them to be in. They only show up in the admin page though. When I log into my account at the forums, they don't show up...I even asked another member (I only have 2 as of right now), and they also said they couldn't see it.

usually, forums have different permission settings. something like: Public (any user,
registered and guests alike, can read and reply to posts), Registered, Registered [Hidden], Private, Private [Hidden], Moderators, Moderators [Hidden]. at least that's how it is with phpBB, it's what i use.

but i suppose IPB has the similar permission settings you need to configure.

as for on-off-on-off sql errors (even without you touching any code in your site), it has
been happening bcoz of some sql downtimes lately, but it goes up back again after a

I already know how to manage the forums, I know about permission masks, how to assign permission masks, and all that, but it still doesn't work. The permission masks was the first thing I suspected as the problem, but it isn't it. Thanks for the link, though...I will continue to look at it, and if I don't have any answers, I'll let you know, Also, if you want to go to the forums and see for yourself, you can go to: http://hamtaro.trap17.com/forum
Oh, and, if it was working right, guests should also be able to see the forums

When you create a category of forum the table full of premissions determines who can see them. The group must have the Show forum box checked for it to be seen.

I found it. YOU WERE RIGHT! I didn't know the CATEGORIES had permissions...I just thought the forums did...So, thanks for the help, everyone.
