Lol. That topic was always going to get everyone worked up I prefer Opera and Firefox greatly, but as mahirharoon noted IE7 is a massive improvement on the sheer uselessness of IE6. Maybe a little less usable, but without the weekly patches required to try and keep IE6 secure at the height of the troubles. IE7 isn't as good as FF but is muchbetter than safari, and the looks are allrighttoo, so if you're running geniune MS winXP download this (Highly recommended)
Firefox has won many awards and is considered to be the safest browser till date...
This is because FF is opensource and IE7 is not. When you have a open source soft. every can edit it's source code. and on finding a bug millions of developers across the world update it. FF gets updaetd very frequently..
I have internet explorer 7 on both my computers and im super happy. I didnt really like firefox because i just got too many messages and I didnt like how it downloaded.... it never worked for me so I had to open it in internet explorer and download from there I think I was just unlucky, but I'm happy with IE7 and I'm sticking.
IE7 is heaps better than it's predecessor. But everybody knows, it could have been a lot better. Internet Explorer is still vulnerable to a lot of security threats and if you're not using any good anti-spyware software you're prone to a lot of viruses/trojons/spyware. IE7 uses up more memory than some of the other browsers that are on the block. It doesn't have a lot of value added features that are essential to make it the best browser there available there is. It is obvious that Microsoft don't pay much attention to the lack of quality in their mainstream browser. It's understandable too. Because no matter what other browser companies do, Internet Explorer still is the most used browser on the internet. Simply because most people don't take the pain or are not knowledgeable enough to research other browsers and in return have a quality browsing experience on the internet.

I heard of opera... What is it?
Opera Is also an explorer like internet explorer and fire fox...
but i used it once from a long time ago i think its like Fire Fox
The newest internet explorer really seems as if though Microsoft's trying to compete with Mozilla's Firefox by stealing ideas. Then again, that seems to be how Billy Gates handle the competition now-a-days. Swiping their ideas, calling their service a "Virus" ( Gmail ), or flat-out making the operating system incompatible with the company's programs.
The Internet Explorer 7 Is the greatest Browser From Microsoft I've Ever Seen
It Has a tabbed browsing...
And a great Layout...
Plus the page zooming (You can zoom till 500%)...
And So On....
Notice from Plenoptic:
Edited download link and made it directly from Microsoft's website.
OH Wow Tabbed Browsing? REALLY? and Page zooming? Great! oh wait, Firefox had all of those features(Probably can't zoom to 500% but why would you need to?) and more.
IE 7 is good for a starter computer user, simple type in an address and boom comes the site, but as you progress more you realize IE is holding you back. Lets say you have a website on trap 17 and you need an FTP client, does IE have one? Nope.
See, you can add an FTP client like FireFTP on Firefox as an extension. Unlike IE, since FF is opensource, outside developers can create customization for FF to fit your needs, from Themes, to blog manager, to chat client and bookmark manager. There are so many ways to transform Firefox to your liking, that I don't see Firefox as a browser anymore but a complete web navigation tool that can be packed with everything and anything
IE, since its Closed Source, you can only add a few, if any, extensions that really aren't that great.
Besides, its just now that IE is adding features to their browsers that Firefox had YEARS ago!
I would say its hte best version compared to IE 5 and 6 in terms of what it can do, but thats where it ends because its the most hacked browser in the world, extensions are horrible or lack nay good ones etc. etc. Lets face the only reason IE is still around is that its got about 9 years on everyone else, of course if Microsoft was smart they would build a new browser and let this dinosaur go and design something that don't have the problems IE always had.
Now compared to other browsers no chance, firefox is catching up in the most used browser then of course opera is next and of course then there's Apple's Safari in 4th place, the first two got IE beat in some many things; extensions, displaying proper code, although opera likes to cheat me sometimes, and some other stuff.
IE 7 is great to the fact its the best browser Microsoft has built since the 90's but compared to everyone else it is lacking.

Once there's greater acceptance of CSS standards (and not the buggy implementation that MS seem to want to pass off) then I'll switch to Opera fulltime, but until then Firefox is my usual browser.
yes, this internet bowser (Windows Internet Explorer) has many improvements, such as tab browsing, add-on manager, multi home pages, new options dialog box and .... basically many websites developed and designed base on Windows Internet Explorer
The only reason IE is still around is because M$ packs the browser with all OS Releases, forcing it down our throats. They even force some of their website to only be viewed or activated with IE browser (MSN Gaming doesn't work with Firefox.). Its sad to see such a capable company abuse their resources and create this browser. They have more than enough experience with programing to come up with great softwares. The heart of the problem lies in their public relations. They still see internet users as these simplistic, simple minded people who just surf aimlessly. They really need to take 3-4 years of hardcore research on what the people want, not what they want for us. The only upside of IE is the lighting fast load up times when you start up the browser(only because IE is integrated into explorer).
I quited IE7 (too many crashes) and changed to Firefox (thank god). I think firefox is much faster, safer and it has a lot of very usefull add-ons you can install with it. My firefox has only crashed once in four months and believe me when I say I abuse it (usually I have about 3 open windows with five or six tabs each).
I just love Firefox... And... did someone mention that is open source???
I’m not suprised by this. Chrome auto updates itself without my consent (although I did consent for
it to autoupdate in the EULA /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0"
alt="tongue.gif" /> ) and the installation is so force (like not being able to customize anything…).
Things like that are usually signs that the company’s attitude towards the costumer is less that
perfect. Big corporations, that’s what you get. At least it’s open source, so it’ll probably fare
well (if google doesn’t manage to tank the whole thing). It’s not like browsers that ....

Hi, although it has some useful features and it's (i'd hope so...) well integrated with the
shell, the file explorer that comes with windows xp is not the best we can ask for... so I've
always tried to use various other pieces of softwares randomly found on the net whenever I've
had to intensively work on my file directory... still I haven't found a very good one, all
those I tried have some kind of bug or they are not really user friendly in some occasions... would
anyone suggest a good FREEWARE file explorer? thanks /wink.gif" style="vertical-al....

alt="biggrin.gif" /> I was wondering if there is a better browser than IE in Vista ?? Coz its
taking too much time to load websites. Atleast I feel so. And I've tried Opera also but it
was not too much of an improvement .. Any suggestions to improve the speed ? P.S. To all

F-Secure Internet Security 2008 suite has all the necessary tools to help users defend themselves
from unsavoury elements while surfing the Net. The program comes with various tools such as virus
and spyware scanners, rootkit scanners, anti-spam for email messages, anti-phishing and firewalls.
A pleasant surprise was the option to scan the computer without installing the software: the option
quickly presented itself when I inserted the installation disk into the PC. The program also gets
itself up and running without much trouble, and scans and quarantines viruses ....

Well this morning I was surfing around the mozilla site when I saw a quick blurb about IE8 on there
site, but started; the improvements of course RSS, CSS, HTML, AJX and so on and so forth, and oh
yeah lets steal a few more idea's from firefox, so far only 2 have been listed; Undo close tab,
saving and restoring sessions . A few sites mentions even more rumors that a IE8A (alpha) is
already being tested at Microsoft, so could we seal a beta in late 2007 or early 2008? Most likely
since thats when FF3 final comes out. Of course the question to us coders is will it ....
Guys, I´ve searched the www for the internet security software available, and found Bitdefender.

A while back I somehow stumbled upon some Google-run blog, where I saw a post about the quote
unquote Google Browser. It looked interesting, so I downloaded it. After installing it, I found out
that it was pretty much just a Windows version of the command line Lynx browser (any old timers
here?) with a nice installer. It's interesting to browse with Lynx - no images, no JavaScript,
no CSS, just straight out text and form elements. I could barely imagine using Lynx for my
day-to-day browsing. Here's a screenshot of Gmail in Lynx:....
So a few days ago, I made a calculator for this one game I play that calculates your enemies

QUOTE " Tor works through a technique called onion routing, which uses numerous routers through
which communications will pass. As data passes through points on the Tor Network, each point knows
only where the data is going and where it came from. As the network grows, it becomes increasingly
difficult to trace a connection's origin. eWEEK Labs has been impressed with the functionality
of Tor-based tools such as Vidalia, but these tools require full system installs and lack
portability. Hoawever, a recently released tool makes it very simple to get up and runni....
You can make your Windows XP PC as an Internet Web Server right from your home. Be sure you have:

Security getting better? That is tough to say but Firefox is definitely not leading the way. Despite
all the hype, despite all the Myths, Firefox 1.x has a worse security record so far in 2006 than

multiple security vulnerabilities of a product. The most severe Firefox Secunia advisories tend to

Last year, I downloaded elinks, a text mode browser, but didn't put any serious use into it

Internet Explorer 7 Release Candidate 1 has been released to the public as of August 24, 2006. I
found out through my email subscription to Microsoft. All users of Internet Explorer 7 BETA 2 and
Internet Explorer BETA 3 are encouraged to upgrade Internet Explorer to the current version (RC1) to
experience better functionality and improved web browsing experience. BETA 3 did not work for me so
I switched back to BETA 2. Internet Explorer 7 RC 1 has worked fine for me right now, however I have
not noticed any difference from BETA 2 yet. BETA 3 caused a "Send Error Report....
