| | hey, ive recently purchased a domain. i however have one question, once i point it to the nameservers here, i need to go to the trap17.com/process page and set my domain name to my recently purchased domain right?
when i do that, does my trap17 subdomain dissapear? or will i be able to use both it and the domain? |

It will be replaced with your current Trap17 Sub-Domain. So just give out 15 Credits and you are done with that

what i mean to say is, currently i have altscripts.trap17.com and i just purchased altscripts.net if i do the 15 credit thing, will altscripts.net be the only one to work?

If you change the domain name through the process page. Yes , it will be replaced with the new domain , so it will be fine but you have to change the setting if need be

yes, altscripts.net will be the only one that will work. the subdomain that you have now will seise to exist, there will be no warning for the members or your site, just a sudden change of domain... so if your members go to your site (altscripts.trap17.com) after you change the domain name, they will get the 404 error page

The alternative is to PARK the domain. This means you can have altscripts.trap17.com and altscripts.net to point to the one hosting account. This method is used when you don't want to lose the traffic already coming to your sub-domain or do not have enough time to alert all members who visit your site. The slight issue with parking a domain is if you have <A HREF= as your sub-domain rather than relative link, i.e. <A HREF="images/file etc... you will need to go back and change. This applies true with changing your domain name with 15 credits. But the point here made is this--when you purchase a domain name is usually to establish branding name, right? So instead of showing sub-domain you want to show your domain name at all times.

Sorry for double posting, but i didnt want to make another thread. Im having some serious problems right now, i changed my domain through the process page to altscripts.net however, i cant get to my site, at all! the nameservers are set up to ns1.trap17.com and ns2.trap17.com, and my domain is altscripts.net so i cant figure out my problem im getting a server not found for altscripts.net and a no page hosted here for altscripts.trap17.com help please!!

your domain WHOIS seems to be in proper order. is it possible for you to access your hosting control panel? this is just a wild attempt to assist you, but if you can access your CP, perhaps parking your domain will help. i'm not familiar with how the "change domain name" script works, so i can't give a definite answer. perhaps wait for admin BH to drop by this thread for a more informed resolution to your situation.

Simply put, Zero Ziat, you cannot change your hosting's domain name without changing its nameservers. Therefore you cannot change the domain name to which you do not own, yet.

Congrats, Proto, if you are gonna get a domain and you point it at an existing domain who hasn't pointed that domain at Trap17's nameservers, there isn't anything happening.

Cannot access my sub domains (10) Hi, I am having some serious problems with my sub domains. I registered a site with trap17 named
http://zoebelkin.co.cc . Then I made 2 sub domains for the site. One is for the forums section
and the other is for the gallery section. 1> forums.zoebelkin.co.cc 2> gallery.zoebelkin.co.cc
Whenever I type these in the browser adress bar the browser gives an output that it cannot find the
web sites. But they are complete and should show something. Also using www. in front of the sub
domains didn't help. Is www. needed in front of the sub domains. Could you just....
Need Help In Addon Domains
(4) i need some help in addon domains My domain registor uses A record hence in the DNS setting i have
to put the ip address of my trap17 hosting account. The main domain works out perfectly after
changing the DNS to trap17 ip in my domain registor. Now the problem is when i tried adding a
another domain from the same registor to my Addon domains. I changed the DNS setting as like before

Help (3) How do i edit the Sub-Domain. How do i connect to the FTP? I tried just going to the URL but that
didn't work. What do i need to do to upload stuff? Also, how do i put programs that are going to

updated from last topic (7) Ok so i just created my account, all is up and running fine. I tried to click the link at the

Not sure about what to do (4) I got some of those free .info domains from 1&1, and want to set it up for use with my hosting

to my trap17 subdomain (6) hi i was wondering, i registred a domain (www.armaniii.be) and i want to have this as a domain...
but i want more then just 1... so lets say i have 1234.be 4321.be blabla.be wassie.be and i want
them all to redirect to my site. so when you go to 1234.be you go to www.wassie.trap17.com same with
the others. But i also want to be able just to go to www.wassie.trap17.com. the domains (.be) must
also be able to do this: when i make a new directory at www.wassie.trap17.com lets say its
www.wassie.trap17.com/map/, the domains must also be able to acces it like www.1234.be/....
About "hosting" Sub-domains
(9) I have a domain, but it's not exactly a TLD, uni.cc, but since I have a domain in Trap17, I have
an option to having subdomains like subdomain.domain.uni.cc. Here's my question. I want to
make some guys use a subdomain of mine. Is this allowed? It's not like I'm charging them or
