I think www.freejoomlas.com is a rip-off. They have ads and horrible forums on your site. If you're looking for a free joomla use trap17 or some ad free layered panel site.

They have ads and horrible forums on your site. If you're looking for a free joomla use trap17 or some ad free layered panel site. You ve got a point. But I ve been using their service since 3 months. They ve not put any banner or ads on my site.Basically,it is is totally free and you can start right away.Server is doing fine for me till now.May be in future, they ll put banner. But my point is if u want /test a Joomla site straight away without any cost and commitment ,they are best. You ll become well experienced with Joomla administration panel.and your site ll be up overnight. NOT BAD. Anyway, you ve limited freedom in choosing templates. So,I m here at trap17.

tbh i dont like joomla, just because i dont like its content or its layout on its website (yes im literally that picky). If its layout sucks, no point in looking at it right? well thats exactly what i think about joomla, or at least when i last loked at it.

Every CMS has its own advantage and disadvantages. But Joomla gives you a lot of flexibillity especially you plan to make a portal site with a lot of features. There are a lot of templates out there to make its look out of the box.And also do not forget about the add-ons avilable for Joomla. It is best for portal site to say the least. But if your site is to serve something specific like blog ,forum then Joomla may not be the best. If you do not like Joomla, do not forget to post the CMS you use.It ll be helpful for a lot of people.

I would insist that one should use XOOPS. This is not because I am a XOOPS user. But it is because I have tried all available CMS opitions and XOOPS is best of all. It's really easy and flexible. There are also so many modules available to use with xoops. Even PHPBB is also available as a module. ANy Ways I think That XOOPS Rocks!

QUOTE(satyaparija @ Aug 24 2007, 08:28 PM) If you want to give a try .. go to www.freejoomlas.com If you are talking about one of those sites that hosts your PHP script and doesn't give you much access, I recommend you use an actual web host instead. A few years ago, I ran a clan with my cousin, and we decided to use a service called Invision Free (they hosted modified copies of 1.3 Final). Although this was fine for a clan, who had leaders that knew nothing about forum software at the time, it is not fine for someone who really wants to customize their board. Invision Free did not give out FTP access and blocked many areas that allowed the board to have a lot of customizations. The only thing they allowed was one CSS stylesheet. There was no FTP access, so it was impossible to add features to the board other than a CSS, HTML, or Javascript customization (and even these were limiting). After that experience, I would not recommend you use one of those sites that host a script for you and give nothing else (it sounds like this freejoomlas does that). They really limit the way you customize your site. Also, I went to this freejoomla site, and it did not look very professional. I always compare a web host's website to their service. If they don't care about working on their website, they don't care about working on their servers to keep your website online.

Hey..I know their home page is not that professional....But they have been giving best since 5 months and it loads pretty fast. My point is just that if you want to take the feel the power of Joomla.Of course, if you can get a web account and know how to install Joomla...then forget it. they are the best I ve come across..

Joomla is probably the best open-source CMS out there. With just a little bit of experience, you can build an easy to navigate site, complete with forums, a photo gallery and whatever else you could think of. For developers (which I'm not), you are given a powerful framework to build your applications on. If you have never used a CMS before, or are thinking about trying another one, give Joomla a shot, and you'll see the difference.

Yes JOOMLA is great content menagment stystem and I use is also. However the thing that I get wy would you go anywhere else as you've got everything over here in trap17 the greates free hosting you would just need to download joomla package and install at and voala you've got joomla set up and fully operational without ads or anything else. You just need to post up regular;y in forums.

For beginners starting their sites... go for Joomla. If you can avoid it... thats great, as sites with programs such as dreamweaver can be good. You can find some good looking layouts for joomla!

I took a look @ freejomlas... Joomla is free Hosting @ Trap17 is free... So why do you need freejomlas for? I think the purpose of freejomlas is for them to set up a basic Joomla site for you running their own ads... Meaning... Making money out of your site... So my advice to you is to install Joomla yourself and run your own ads... If you need some info for ads just take a look @ my blog leave a comment there if you need more info. About Joomla... Joomla easy to install... 100 % free... Has no spyware... A lot of add-ons also free... to install Joomla Check you C-panel... Check Fantastico... Look for Joomla... Click install... YouŽre done... Joomla has a few examples already so for you to start up just change the content of those examples for your own content After that just start publishing new stuff and moving things (one @ a time) for you to learn what goes where... YouŽll learn all about managing your joomla in a few days... Good luck with your new site

QUOTE(Sprnknwn @ Oct 30 2007, 07:09 PM) For me a CMS is good only if it's relatively easy to make a site done with it, look like it were not. I mean, that you don't identify at the very first glance you give to the site that is using an especific CMS, Joomla in this case. I always hated CMS because they gave wings to lots of irresponsible webmasters that make sites with no purpose or value. So lots of unncesary ugly sites arose, all with the same prefabricated modules. I don't really know if Joomla is that way, in that case I wouldn't be interested. Very good point here Sprnknwn. There's just waaaay too many "default" php cms sites with the same damn layout and not even any stuff on it. However JOOMLA is quite unique in my opinion, it lets you CHOOSE to install "default" data ( I Recommend this if you're new to the CMS ) or to leave all modules and settings BLANK, for you to set up on your own. And there's tons of more good looking themes / templates, more addons, more "support" to get with it than many others. It's also voted for "Best CMS of the year". (Or was it another prize?) Well give it a spin!

Trap17 Free Web Hosting Service And The Forum Beats The Rest!
the best on the web! (68) Hey all, I've been wanting to post this topic for absolutely ages but you apparently have to be

reason I came to Trap17, by talking about my two previous hosts and why I left them. I would advise
that if you're with these hosts then LEAVE THEM NOW! Unless you want your sites to be totally
unpopular like mine... Ok, one day I came up with this radical idea after playing a game on the
internet and listening to the comments people were giving. A lot of people where sayi....
Citymax Online Website Builder
B+ for ease of use (3) I currently have my site hosted/built using Citymax.com. (while I try to re-build it at Trap17 from
scratch) So far it is the CHEAPEST online web builder/hosting company that I can find. The funny
thing is that a number of "companies" sell the EXACT SAME SERVICE for alot more money. Oh the cost
is about $16 a month, paid in advance for 6 or 12 months. It is pretty feature-packed. It has 1000+
"templates" which for a newbie like me was VERY important. You can also choose to design in basic
HTML, or use their WYSIWYG editor. Included in the price is a Photo album, C....
