| | Thats a large ammount of money there.. I hope google can make Youtube better somehow, by getting more workers or new feature of some sort. Personally, the way google videos is, I don't quite like so much because it is not as well known as Youtube and youtube seems like a nicer looking layout. Youtube has millions of videos and its very popular, compared to google video. Most of my friends and schoolmates refer to Youtube as the video store, and google as the search engine, thats it! Now that google bought Youtube, hopefully it will help them dominate other sites and be known globally. |

This is very smart business by Google, like what all of you said. Eliminating competition by being the competition. Youtube has been the most popular video uploading site in the internet as of late, more so than google and yahoo. And I can only see more benefits for youtube user, such as the bandwidth and space capacity to upload videos. Regarding the copyrights issue, you mean now we can watch our favourite shows on youtube.com and there will be no restrictions on it being a copyrighted material?

However, google must not let their guards down so soon... There's currently another beta by Microsoft msn that is call SoapBox, which is the msn version of the youtube... Its been currently slowly getting more members and the layout and interface of SoapBox is simply fantastic! So I guess google will have yet another competition very soon and then it will certainly be a competition to see 2 of the biggest company fighting it out!

This buyout proves that Google Video was a failure, and likewise, this was a very smart move by Google, to buyout a competitor.

i find it amazing that Youtube was owned by 2 guys in there 2o's and they get to share around £950 million...mmm so much money..ehem it was a smart business move to buy out a huge competitor i agree. i hope it will still be called youtube not like googletube

Perhaps they may combine youtube and google video, since they would not be so smart having 2 video service of themselves fighting each other and wasting money on 2 sites that does exactly the same thing... I do hope they dont delete or change any videos or layout the the site as its has been kind of used to the youtube layout and the way it handle things...

I can olnly say I like the fact that Google is getting stronger and stronger everyday. It seems that Microsoft is starting to get a large piece of the Internet market and it is good to know that they will have some serious competition. Google should keep up the good work!

You know, so many people go about saying this is going to ruin YouTube because Google Video bites. When most of them haven't even tried Google Video. If more people use it, Google would put mroe money in it to make it better, and trust me, the have the money.  I personally think it will be great. Not to mention all the funny videos out up on YouTube about the two guys who are selling. They're great. With Google, how can you go wrong?

I can see Google doing something that will combine both Google Video and YouTube. Pretty soon everything will be Google. But the aquisition of YouTube by Google puts it up front farther than Yahoo! and MSN, etc. I think I heard something about Google trying to move in on eBay?

Google Health Beta Service Goes Live
(1) Well it seems Google is going ahead with service even though the huge security risks that are
involved in this program. Of course, they are well aware of the problems that come with this, but
even if they got military grade security on their servers, there is far to much risk having your
medical records floating around on the internet. However, its not like they have been circulating on
the net for years through computer databases and what not, and that really surprises me that
hospitals haven't been attack or if they have, they been keeping it hush hush for years. ....
Google Notifier Problems...
(3) Alright well I've got google notifier on my mac and it works great, so I decided to install it
on my windows partition as well. Well I am having problems with the windows version (Surprised?).
Anyway the problem is that it doesn't remember my username and password. The mac version stores
my account username and password in the mac keychain, but the windows version prompts me for my
account username and password every time I start up the computer . It completely defeats the
purpose of the notifier. If anyone knows how to have it store the username and passwo....

Should or Will they ever make one? (8) I think it would be sweet to have a Google operating system. I searched google for it, and all that
I could find was a bunch of people with the idea for them to make one. I think they'd be able
to make it run all the programs we have already for Windows, Linux, and Mac, and make it a lot

Errors with Google (13) For about one or two weeks my browsers(both internet explorer and firefox) were hijacked to some
degree by google. No matter what web address I would put in to either of them be it something like
