| | I love Gtalk and how it's really simple & clean (especially in comparison to the horrible MSN!)
I'm getting all my friends on it. I really loved when I could chat at work through my Gmail, but they've now caught on and blocked it!

No Google Talk For Linux?
Is there anyway you can use gtalk in linux without opening your browse (6) I've been using linux (kubuntu and just installed sabayon) for the past month and am very happy
with it but for the fact that I can't use gtalk with it. Gtalk is my favorite chat client and I
don't like chatting using a browser. Does anyone know of a way to get gtalk to work in linux?....

Get The Word Out - Google Talk
(13) I think AIM is the most popular IMing service followed by MSN messanger. Google Talk is basically a
dead messanger and no one uses it. If anyone wants to help I say we get the word of this out to all
our friends and to forums. I also suggest we contact PHP, IPB, IF, and other boards to add a GT
button to go along with AIM, MSN, YIM, ICQ, and Email. Also if someone could make a Get Google Talk
userbar it would be a good way to get the word out.....

Will it ever happen? (1) Does anyone think that Google, with it's massive computing capabilities, will ever add video
chat to the Google Talk service? I did hear of some program (it's called Festoon, curently in
Beta; http://www.festooninc.com/ ) that supposedly adds this capability, but it would be nice to
see Google build in this functionality.....

gonna put the os on very low cost computers they built. they computers are about 200 dollars. this
is probobly not going to make any money. people are already trying to pick windows, mac or linux. if
your cool you will pick linux. mac still has 5% market share in operating system industry. they
came out before windows. google might get a head start because its google. but they always make it

Google Talk
I'm lovin' it (1) One day I was looking around the Google site, and noticed Google Talk, so I said what the heck and
downloaded it hoping it would install without administrator privelages (which it did). I installed
it, and invited one of my friends who has Gmail to use it; he downloaded it, and after about 5
minutes trying to get my headset working (turns out that the mic was muted) I was chatting in FM
radio quality sound! All I can really say is it's wonderful. No doubt about it.....

out visit gtalkr.com , it has all of the great features of Google Talk (apart from voip, or at
least I can't find it) and a few new ones such as the searching and labels system from Gmail to
search through old chat logs, it even has display pictures and lists new gmail messeges, so anyway
the only real way to get a feel for the service is to try it for yourself. PS they have reported
server troubles but I am yet to experience any, just in case you can't connect ....
