Can I embed uploaded images directly in HTML-files?
Like every big Service in the net, we have to assure that the traffic can be paid. If the images are embedded directly, we have absolutely no chance to do any advertising at all. Due to this, the DIRECT embedding of images is not possible.
Can I delete my uploaded files?
Sure you can! After your upload, you will get two links. The download-link, which you give to everyone you want to and a delete-link, which you keep for yourself. Just click on the delete-link and your file will be deleted immediately. You can enter your e-mail after uploading files, so we will send you the delete-link via e-mail automatically.
I wanted to download a bigger file with a download-accelerator, but why do I always get some strange errors?
Those programs try to accelerate the download by downloading several chunks of the file at once. Since we do now allow the direct linking of the file, we are generating a unique ID when you see the download-screen. This ID is only valid for one download. Since those programs try to start several downloads at once, this will fail. Please do not use such programs with ezShare. We have a fast connection to the internet, so they are not giving any more speed at all.
Nevertheless I tried to download files with my cool download-accelerator, but now your page isn't reachable anymore???
Coding seems to be a really hard job. Else we can't explain the fact that so many programs just ignore important HTTP-Header informations. Although we always send "Accept-Ranges: none", most programs send hundreds of requests, flooding our servers heavily. We don't know what those coders have been thinking (did they at all???), but after 100 floods we will ban your IP-address for one hour. So our server is only non available for YOU.
After my upload I can enter my e-mail address. Will I receive ads?
No. We do not sell addresses. If we expand ezShare, we might send a newsletter to you. This might happen once a month, if at all.
How long are my files hosted?
No limit. Nevertheless even we have to clean up our drives from time to time, so we will delete files, which have not been accessed for 30 days or longer.
Can I use this service for backups?
Sorry, no way. See question above.
Why does your service reject my multi-volume archive? (Archive.part1.rar for example)
Our file-limit acually has the sense to only allow as much traffic as we can pay with the ad's income. Its really a pity that some people try to upload whole CDs by just using split volume-archives. We will reject/delete such files immediately.
