Freehostia.com - Great free host!

I've been using freehostia.com as a free web host for a while now. They have been very very good to me. I actually have several accounts with them. Their system is set up very good. Easy to use control panel. All kinds of good stuff. PHPMyAdmin is preinstalled. They have elefante script installer which can install a nice selection of scripts like phpNuke, phpBB, OSComerce etc. The thing I like most about freehostia is how clean it is for a free site. There are absolutely no forced banners or ads of any kind. Whatever you upload is exactly what gets served. They allow lots of things other hosts don't. They only thing they don't have is the mail() function. I have been using the free hosting for a while and I think I'm actually going to switch to paid hosting with them. They are a really good service. The cheapest paid hosting plan is $1.95 a month. It gives you 10GB bandwidth and 500MB storage, which I think is pretty good for the price and the service. They also have domains at freehostia for $9.95 a year(not bad). Their support system is really good too. They use a ticket system. They say there is a 24hour guarantee response time to tickets with the free hosting plan, but I have never had to wait more than 2 hours for a response. For the paid hosting plans it is 1 hour response team guaranteed. If you're looking for a free or cheap host with all the best features and php,mysql,perl. Freehostia is definitely one of the best.

There a great host to try out scripts on, and maybe have for a little while, but they're not a good site to have a professional site on, as their basic features are not matched to trap17's

Yeah, true. Nothing beats CPanelX. But for free or very cheap (without posting in forums) they are quite good.

I've had freehostia and they definitely aren't the best. I'd much rather have Trap17.

Freehostia is gone, I guess. When I try to access it, it just doesn't open. My site is gone. Maybe it was because they started hosting too many people for free and the server couldn't take it and... that is it.

Freehostia is messed up among all my trials it was very nice among all else but when I stumbled upon trap17 i dont mind wasting 2 hours a day for this service and community. Great place.

Okay... I'm confused as to what Trap17 Offers. Up at the top of the Forums index page it says package 2 offers 150mb space and 5000mb bandwidth. However, you say 500mb storage and 10000mb bandwidth. I believe it also says this on the trap17 homepage. What's the deal? Can you explain to me?

And for Freehostia.com, I figured out Trap17 way before I could even make up a decent site, and then I never had to try anything other than Freewebs.com which was way back...

And Trap17 "Pwns!" any other free web-hosting service anytime, I bet Freehostia will never be as good as Trap17.

Ya... thanks for the link. From my first view it looks promising but have not tried out yet.
Now a days i am very lazy to signup in any of the sites. Kind of sucks with the amount of details that i have to fill in... though the amount of details has to b filled has reduced in most of the sites wherein they ask only for the email and its done... I am lazy to do that.

But still the site looks promising and i have given a try.

Will try out few stuffs there and will post the feedback when time permits.... i would not talk anything against trap17 though... i am one of the happiest customers of Trap17 and i would never prefer to move out of trap17, unless they close this free webhosting and is unlikely in the near future...

Hello everyone,
I am used freehostia.com and I am not satisfied with the bass, max file size, which can be uploaded is 500 kb, the server is slow, and there are still some disadvantages .. Mysql database often can't work, so I decided to trap17.com ... I hope to will soon and that we would like it ..

I have to say, freehostia is quite good.

But it's nothing like trap17, because Trap17 is more fun. Posting for hosting and domains? Awesome!

Ugh i hated Freehostia and I love scripting my sites but heres my list.
Since i haven't been hosted by trap17 heres my list.

3. Freehostia
Reason Trap is number two is because I've registered on many sites.

I use freehostia.com free web hosting service for a long time now and they never sent me spam or whatever, only an email per year telling me to activeate my account for one more year, and they do not have ads, and their control panel is very good, not as good as everything in trap17 free web hosting control panel but, if one just wants only the basics and a litle more, freehostia.com free web hosting service is the best besides trap17.com.

I am not saying that trap17.com is the best just because i have an account and because i am posting at their forums, no, i am saying trap17.com free web hosting serbice is the best because it really is, is it my favorite after years now, and besides sometimes i went nuts with some errors and stuff on their server, despite the fact that that hapens to all, even to the most secure and well programmed serves, i am happy with the trap17.com service.
