Wow, I have not heard of anything but would love to do a little more research and read up about about it. I always knew that it would happen sooner or later but just never thought it would happen in my lifetime. Of course I presume that many of the trap 17 forum regular members would all have watched the great trilogy of the Back To The Future series with Michael J. Fox and Christopher Llyode. They were and are still basically my absoulte favourite three movies of all time. They were so incredibally well done and entertaining, all three of them, that's something that movies just wish they could pull off these days. Sorry for the Back to the Future tangent there! I get emotional when I think of those movies. If anybody has any information regarding these apparant new flying cars I would love to hear all about it, I'm excited to see exactly how they work and whether or not the average consumer would be able to afford the costs of buying the car and then on top of that the elusive cost of running the sky-mobile(doubt that's what it's called, but it sounds pretty cool)

when i was a child i just heard of that from the book, they say that the flying car will be using at about 2000 years.now it's the 21century,but no flying cars flying on sky or floating up the earth. it's just a dream. .plane can do the same thing.

Flying cars would present a new problem, though: Traffic in the air. And that still doesn't really solve the problem of gas prices, either.

If it does, I think flying cars will adopt rules and regulations like those planes does... And it's far more dangerous to see cars speeding in the air.. Don't you think so?

They are a great concept but there are some problems: * Everyone would have to take a new driving/pilot test * They are unlikely to get the same MPG as a conventional car * A collision in the air would be even more catastrophic than one on the roads * The police would also need a fleet of flying cars to patrol the skies * From the governments opinion: "Where can we put speed cameras in the sky??? And what about the congestion charge???"

they will need a pilots linsences not a drivers. and you know how much this thingy is going to cost! i can't even imagien and gas its going to go through it like candy and make the prices jump even more. ( And thats not fun ) but still it is going to be strange seeing the future become past...

Okay First off the flying car drives it self the makers already thought of all your problems the flying car is going to be alivalible for the average american but a little expensive the first people to get it Micheal jackson and some other famous people i think opera and the car only flys like around a tall house hieght not that tall because it has alot of weight due to the 4 turbine engines and it runs on regular gas its very slick panel for driving its just a screen with a map of the city you live in and a little thingy to type where you wana go and the chip has a internal map that it has little lines in it that it has to follow so it doesent crash it automaticly caculates how fast you have to go to avoid the other air plane so you dont crash so you will never crash in one of thesee cars.... i think half of that is wrong it may have a steering wheel im still not sure

QUOTE(far3 @ Jan 1 2006, 04:35 PM) rofl I can see it now, your lounging in your backyard reading your favorite magazine a few cars are over head then you see smoke coming from one of them, then WOOM BAAM! it lands and deystorys your house, sure insurance will protect it and stuff but I dont see the world having flying cars like they invisioned long ago how it would be. Yeah but also look at this back in the time when there were no computers... guess waht people didnt think there would be personal compurters in evey home just big buisnesses and schools and other "big" places would have one... its a trend type thing people want one thing and its normaly the generation after its been invented not the current one... theres my 2 cents on that to the flying cars and stuff... the only way i cna think of having it work right is to have it all computered take off landing flying eveything! all computerized... of course you;d have to put tamper protection to have it not work if a certian door was taken of to remove certian wires so you could have it say fly into a building... but you'd also probably have the cars programed (yeah lots of time and money...) yeah thered be certian flying zones... such as what we have now the no fly zones... and *BLEEP*... but look at this yeah itd take time and money and stuff but it can and probably will be done...

Flying cars, especially if they could (and were allowed to) go 350 miles per hour, would be going far too fast for a person to be able to control them safely. Consider how quickly accidents happen going 60-80 mph. The biggest safety risk for this would be human error, or running out of fuel mid-flight. The only way to avoid these problems would be to have the vehicle controlled completely by GPS/a computer. The computer could calculate the shortest route, detect any vehicles that may potentially pose a crash risk and plan the flight to avoid them, and calculate where and when a refuelling stop would be necessary. These vehicles would be too low-altitute to post any problems with planes, unless the plane was about to land (which shouldn't be a problem, as long as these things avoid airports). But, as has been said, this, if any kind of flying car at all, probably won't be used by the commercial public for decades to come, if ever (currently taking a commercial flight would be much cheaper and more fuel efficient, while creating much less pollution and not creating a new crash/accident hazard to go with the whole flying car package..

I don't think flying cars will go 350, since people need to manage the speed at which they drive. Consider all the old people out there who can barely drive 20 in a 60 zone! There was someone really slow in front of me driving about 10km/h when the limit was 50. It drove me almost nuts considering I couldn't pass him. The old guy finally pulled over to his parking spot, but seriously, I think old people should get tested to see if they post a threat or burden to people who drive. That's just my opinion on the matter.

Skycar
The flying car (15) I've been following the creation of this technology for a little while but find when i talk to
others about it they have never heard of it. A company called Moller International has created a
car that can actually hover and fly. NASA has been working on a project with other agencies to work
out "skyways" for years. This creation takes use to the skyways. You drive it to a local take-off
area and dial in the phone number or the street address of where you want to go and then your off.
It is computer operated and each car has a chip that keeps every car a certain ....
Really, Really Small Flying Eye In The Sky!
(6) Did anyone hear about that flying reconnaiscense project that the american government was
developing, I heard it was a little smaller than a blue tit and had a camera, with 2 mile range. It
can even fly through buildings! - does anyone know if this awesome spy gadget actually exists?....
Flying Alarm Clock
yes its true (33) I heard about this on a tech site a couple of days ago and I havent been able to find out anything
else about it. Supposedly, it goes off in the morning and if you hit the snooze button it will fly
around the room chirping until you catch it and turn it off. If anyone has any other information on
this or if there is anywhere to buy it please let me know because I am really interested in
purchasing one of these as I am the type of person that will just keep ihitting the snooze button.....
Cars Can Now Go In Water
(53) hey I found out that they now have cars that can go in water. I don't know if this has been out
for a long time or not but I have seen this on TV the other day. The car I have seen on TV was said
to be $900,000 to buy.....

Cars Of The Future
What will they look like, and be like? (20) As we know cars have evolved hugely since the beginning of the time, and we are seeing bigger and
bigger debates about the enviroment factors and there look and feel. Here are a few ways in which
they may imporve, what do you think? Building cheaper and better cars, by building atom by atom...

ultimately less expensive — by building materials one atom at a time. Nanotechnology, which

Flying Cars
(21) this article is from april 17 but i just saw it today. Flying cars it talks about people building
flying machines that people will be able to use. i think it would be really cool to have your own
flying machine that you could take anywhere you want. NASA has a 'highway in the sky'
program in which they are researching this technology. also this technology might be out sooner than
many people think: QUOTE "Somewhere between 10 and 15 years, you're going to see numbers of
these vehicles out there being used," says Moller ....
