| | Hi all, I found a new application with that you can speed up Firefox. And I read a review (it was in german...so I can't put it here) where it was said that FireTune makes FF little faster. Download: http://dmextension.mozdev.org/installation.html And don't forget: Make a backup of the old settings, you can do it with this application.

I got the a while back, and to be hpnest have not noticed a large speed increase (I'm on dial up though so I'm holding that responsible), however that is not saying this tool does not work, as I did notice a decrease in startup time and slight less memory usage. I do however really like the option to replace the really annoying error pop up with a page that allows you re-try (this is really usefull for us dial-up users who get disconnected all the time). so yeah I liked this tool and found it to be effective in at least increasing the useabillity of this great browser.

I believe that Firefox is an amazing browser. It's the only one I use, and I really appreciate all of the features, security, standards-complaince, and other perks that make it the amazing program that it is. But having said that, there are some bones that I have to pick. One being the resources consumption. It's impossible to deny that Firefox has some heavy memory-leakage issues, random bugs, and is overall system-intensive. Bringing this post on-topic, I felt that it was appropriate to point out that if you type: about:config, in your Firefox address-bar, you can tweak-out any aspect of Firefox. This is a lot more hands-on that downloading an extension, but if you don't like bogging up your already heavy Firefox installation, then tweaking pre-installed configurations would be a much viable alternative. Having said that, I'd like to re-ask someone's question in this thread that has remained unanswered, does this help the application's interface and overall performance, or does this instead speed-up the " connection"? The interface I wouldn't mind having work more efficiently, but the connection is as good as I want it (by tweaking out the previously mentioned options).

Firefox is a very secure and fast internet browser. and also, it's secure and renders pages correctly unlike Opera, opera dosen't renders pages correctly and they are liars. It's not true that they are the best browser of 2005.

Firefox Hates Moveplayer
Help me save my crashing browser. (5) I have a serious problem on my main PC. Firefox refuses to open. It goes directly to the crash
report, listing the add-ons that failed on startup. I managed to launch it from the Run window into
Safe Mode, and again it crashed immediately, but this time only listed one add-on: MovePlayer. The
uninstall instructions I found require a Firefox capable of loading. I'm running Windows XP and

Firefox 3 - Lowest Memory Usage

they tested Firefox 3 beta 4, Firefox 2.0.0.12, Opero 9.5 beta, Internet Explorer 7, Internet

Which Archiving Method Is Faster?
One by one or all at the same time? (5) Well, I hope I am posting this in the right forum. I was wondering if you tech-guys know if there is
any difference in speed if: I am let's say extracting two 2gb archives file1.rar and file2.rar:
1. at the same time 2. one after another I'd really like to know that, because I really love to
multi-task but sometimes I get the feeling that things would go faster if I did one thing and then
after the first one is completed, move on to another rar archive for example... Thank you all for

Your Firefox Cache
Do you know where it is ? (3) You can access your FireFox cache files by typing this "about:cache?device=disk" into your FF URL
bar There is the cache directory will tell you the directory in which cache is stored, this is not
IE and you'll not be able to browse by going to that directory, because its in encrypted form.
If you want to browse your cache, you're in the page! The about:cache?device=disk is the
disk cache page! browse around in here. This is completely different to what is temporary
internet files in IE. Use the quick find function by pressing / (forward slash) an....
Make Your Software Run Faster
If your software uses fonts (2) Every time you open Photoshop or Microsoft Word, it scans for all the fonts on your computer. That
can take a while, especially if you have 500 of them, like me. There are often many fonts installed
on a person’s computer, but the average computer user doesn’t need so many fonts. For example,
Microsoft Office 2003 installs a large collection of fonts, but in reality these fonts are just ugly
and not useful at all. The last time I used one of those fonts was 3 years ago, and that was on
someone else’s computer. And if you’re a web designer, you will have a very hard tim....
