| | As many of you know Firefox will be attempting to set a world record on "Download Day" - Date to be announced. As most people on this forum have taste and use firefox I think it would be great that on the day we could have a post where whenever someone downloads can post in, then we can take a screenshot of it and send it to mozilla.
It could be in the guest forum or a members forum but obviously nothing with post count, I just want to know what the admins/mods fink of this idea?

Apparently, flash isn't "important" enough to for hold a stable release. Personally, I'm thinking of switching to opera, as firefox has for certain lost what is good about it. edit: sometimes it pays to check out links within an article. Still, there are a few other problems with flash. I'm going to hold back for a while in any case, as I need my extensions.

As shown with Firefox 2, Mozilla has a way of keeping track of downloads. Therefore, there's no need to post "Look! I've downloaded Firefox!" and spam Mozilla with screenshots. By the way, how can you pledge to download something on a specific day if you don't even know what day it is on? Download Day will coincide with the general availability of Firefox 3. The clock will start ticking when Firefox 3 goes out the door! We don’t have a definitive date for Firefox 3 yet, but it should be in June. Are you going to be home all day, every day in June with Firefox open, waiting for Firefox to tell you a new update is available? Mozilla must be quite confident in their servers, though.

Apparently they are aiming for a 5-million download attempt. At least, that's what my friend told me. Those servers are going bye-bye

Yah I saw something about this, I bet mozilla crew will have download bots to help download firefox 3 as I will only be downloading it once on each of my two computers, wow 2 downloads YIPEE!! Of course the question is what the hell would GWR even allow this? I tell you GWR has lost some respect letting any break a record, oooh I just ate 5000 hot dogs put me in your book  . It is just a browser, I bet if they added a $5 dollar download fee I bet firefox wouldn't be as popular, but of course P2P would solve that problem unless they used serial keys or something.

Damn it, the update installed! I need to download a fresh copy... Wait, there isn't a copy yet! That means that it hasn't started... but the update is installed on my computer already!
Guess that's because GWR has to monitor everything...

I believe the official number is somewhere around 8,251,518. That's the number I got when I looked at it about 3 minutes later, anyway. So I'm guessing the official number is around 8,247,000.

unofficial results (awaiting Guinness World Record official validation and confirmation): Over 8,000,000 FF3 downloads in 24 hours... [counter is still running for the downloads, but i would suppose they won't make it to the official count anymore after the 24 hours  ] not bad, eh? at least some love came the way from the microsoft campus, in the form of a cake sent to the mozilla team congratulating them on their FF3 ship day! (click image below to enlarge)  note: the IE cake shown above is not standards-compliant... and any missing ingredients will be sent later after a PATCH has been baked. lolz

As of 23:00 EDT (03:00 GMT, 18/06/2008), Firefox 3 has 2,831,048 downloads. Let's see how many times over that is by the next day. I'll be checking this next morning too.

I've got it... and most of my plugins aren't compatible yet...  I might switch back and update when more are compatible... Then again, its released today, I shouldn't expect my plugins to magically work (It would be nice though )

i did not make a pledge (as i'm sure many others did not also )... but i'm participating with FF3's Download Day (as you know, many others more who did not or were not able to make the pledge like me will likewise do). Firefox Portable
(3) so I recently downloaded firefox portable for my flash drive. I have to say that I was never a fan
of firefox... I run windows, but use safari and I really like it, one of the major reasons I didnt
like firefox was because of the way it displayed my website... It basically destroyed

all I could find for free was firefox! so i got it and scepticaly ran it for the first time....
by the way, at first it didnt come up, so i forgot about and opened safari, and like 5 minu....

of how smooth firefox is compared to other browsers. safari is smooth, but still rough, and Opera

Firefox 3 Sucks - Time For Another Browser
(66) No seriously, I've been using Firefox since 0.x releases. I loved it. Every release, despite
having no huge features, was a great update. Version 3, however, totally messes everything up. Its
default interface is ugly. And no Home button, really ??? (ps. I kno i can drag it back from the
