Dns = Fine But It Goes To Old Host

OK basically... i set all my DNS to the trap17 ones about 2 days ago and it was working fine yesterday and went to my trap17 page... now i goto my address (http://www.outlawspirit.com) and it goes to my old host blink.gif now i have no redirect on and i cannot access the cpanel through http://www.outlawspirit.com/cpanel

can someone please help?

it can sometimes take up to 72 hours for dns changes to propegate through the internet. You say yesterday it went to trap17, but today it doesn't? Are you using the same pc? If you are then it could be that your ISP had some problems with thier DNS server and your using a secondary DNS server. If your not using the same computer perhaps where you are now is not using the same DNS server as where you were yesterday?

ok well... i have just had the domain side try and sort it out... so i need to give it a few hours and i will try again...

the namesevers are :

NS1.TRAP17.COM
NS2.TRAP17.COM

i have them right???

If you have problem accessing your cPanel using your domain name you can use this until the DNS is migrated.

http://69.50.188.18:2082/

That will bring you to the login page and your cPanel username and password will direct you to your site.

I just did a reverse DNS lookup and your domain name are correctly pointing to ns1 and ns2.trap17.com

If you are on a xp or w2k computer you may have to fluch the dns cache. You can do that in command.com
  1. Click -> Start -> Run.
  2. Type -> command
  3. Hit -> Enter
  4. At the DOS prompt type "ipconfig /displaydns" Display the contents of the DNS Resolver Cache." (without the " " and you will list the DNS entries you have, if there are any you don't know you should flush them.)
  5. At the DOS prompt type "ipconfig /flushdns" Purges the DNS Resolver cache.
  6. At the DOS prompt type "ipconfig /registerdns" Refreshes all DHCP leases and re-registers DNS names (And you should be set)

Hmm, didn't it work yesterday? When I went to outlawspirit.com yesterday, it took me to your site on trap17...not brinkster.

If it's www.yourname.com...

it should bind both " yourname.com " & "www.yourname.com"

Understand?

So you need bind " www.yourname.com " to the trap17 also but not only "yourname.com"

It seems to be working fine now. If you still can't get it, outlawspirit, try clearing your browser cache and flushing your DNS cache as NilsC mentioned.

    min. ago and WOW WEE it is really really good! The cPanel looks absoulty amazing and everything
    is tidy and orgainzed. u'd think it was an paid host but NO!. Thank you again admins and
    staff of Trap 17, u guys really are teh best FREE host there is on the net. BTW: i have encountered
    a couple fo scam hosts that tell u teh wrong ftp, user name,... so on... Don't use byehost.com.
    they have so many names, some times byeThost, sometimes Byehost11. Its all a sc....
