Wow, I don't know how I'd ever fill a 500GB hard drive! I suppose with all applications steadily growing in size I would be able to fill it, along with home movies, music and photos. 4GB of RAM as well, this PC is certainly future proof!

I don't really think gamers and media people need 4gb of ram. Come on, 1gb is already more than enough to play any game on the market today. And 500GB...if I downloaded 500GB of stuff my ISP would cut my connection. Only thing I like about is the nice sleek look with the lights. Thats just my opinion, and its biased cuz I am drooling at this comp and regretting that I just bought my new comp a month ago.

well that's a computer!!!! but i just don't want to see how much it costs >O< 500 gb and besides a Dell O_o...

Danieluchis, its about 2k. I bought mine for 1k, if I waited 2 more months I would have had enough to buy one. Dam, why does technology have to advance so fast, it makes my 1GB ram and 160GB harddrive look like a thing of the past. Arrg.

That's life for you. lol Once day, people will be using a Terabye of RAM, and CPUs running hundreds of GHz. It's only a matter of time, and I bet we'll all see it happening in our lifetime. That's why I'm holding off on buying anything new, since what I have at the moment is good enough even though it is outdated and old. Just as long as it works for my needs, that's all that should matter. Gamers are the ones who are helping in the advancement of technology most of all. The average office admin only needs a good old Pentium III to get by comfortably.

Hmm...you know what I am gonna do. I am gonna steal all the worlds supply of silicon, and horde it for a couple years in Antarctica. When I feel like my comp is getting sluggish I will release back into a world. What a great plan, now I just need the manpower.

Whats The Point Of HAVING 500 gb, Whos Going To Use All That Space, You Would Have To Download ALOT. I Use The Computer Everyday For At Least 4 Hourst And Im Stretching To Fill 200GB. But They Are The First, Thats A Good Thing. DELL ROCKS!!!!

That's just for the regular system specs. If you want the 4Gb of ram, 500gb hard drive and a dual core proccessor it brings the price to over $4.5 thousand

My friend just bought a top of the line Dell though, and he was quite happy with it. Cost a bundle tongue.gif, but at least he's got the warranty if anything goes haywire laugh.gif

Well I think Dell has made such improvements to become one of the most powerful machine makers, there will definately be buyers for such high specifications, whether or not it's 4gb RAM or 500gb harddisk. People working in NASA probably find such machines useful for speedy calculations. The movie makers in Hollywood also will thank Dell for such products.

Anyway I've read an article sometime ago that the animated movie, Toys, made used of 2tb (terabytes) of harddisk space to store the entire movie. That doesn't include the softwares and tools that made the movie.. So why not? Dell will still grow, definately..!

huh...it is too huge but it would not lure me to get one or enlarge current disk capacity.because as a desktop pc,200Gb is enough to hold anything you like.just like what jlhaslip said,if need to check disk, defrag will take a boring long time...
however,we should convince that dell is so outstanding in computer development field, big disk must advance big ram to promote later...

I can see myself using something like that... because between my computers, I've got a lot of stuff saved up. I've got 40 gigs on the home computer, with about 30 gigs used. I have another 40 gigs on my laptop... and it's only got about 35 gigs used... I had to go out and buy an external hard drive, because it got full... It was 80 gigs, and I figured there was no way I could fill that! But low and behold, it's full too. I'm going to have to buy another one soon I think. I think I'd rather buy more externals than a 'super-computer' though. I don't know. It's probably cheaper this way. Specially since I got my 80 gig hard-drive for $200, and there were many cheaper ones out there.

Wow I wonder who's going to use that much space. I only used about 10gb of my 100gb. Well good luck with that Dell.

Ok of all the brand name computer companies out there which one do you think is the best. I know
myself that building your own custom system is the most economic and likely the best way to buy a
computer, but if you were offered the choice of all the top brand names which one would you choose
and what makes it better than all the others. I have owned Dell, Compaq, IBM and an EMachine. In my
opinion the Dell was the best. The Dell was inexpensive to buy and was a quite stable system. The

perpendicular recording technology ranging from 200GB to 750GB in capacity. The Barracuda 7200.10

  12. How Do You Combine Removable Drives In To One Big Drive? - (7)
Now this is very interesting and confusing at the same time. I have been told that it is something
that is good useful and can be done. To combine all the removable drives you might have and put them
all in to your main Hard Drive so then you have a bigger memory. The reason I am asking how to do
this is because I always seem to have problems wioth my PC as it seems to run brilliant for a couple
of weeks and then it goes slow like a snail but I've never been able to find out why? Would
combinign all of my removable drives with my main Hard Drive make my PC run a lot...

Ok, I hate to add to the many boards about CD Drives, but I have a major issue with a friend of
mines computer. Ok, the problem is the DVD and the CD Disk Drives are not showing up, at least
properly. She just recently had to get her power supply replaced, because we believed a surge got
threw her surge protector and fried it. I'm wondering if that would of effected the DVD and CD
Drivers. What is showing up is not the CD and DVD drivers but some other stuff. To me it looks like

mentioned that it didn't work. They replaced it. So it worked for about a day, then stopped
again. Well if I know anything, that's not supposed to happen. Now AFTER I had my computer
fixed, my CD Drive stopped working aswell. I just replaced my CD drive myself today. Still
doesn't work. I don't want to take my computer back into Best Buys because then I won't
