| | My friend has an D-Link DI-604 - Router. Yesterday he told me that his router isnt connectable. He ran a couple of tests on his own, but still no connection. Without knowing what were the problem, he got in touch with a geek guy, that tested his router and found out that the routers WAN port was burned, and he couldn't use his router more than a simply switch without firewall. So here's my question; how could a routers WAN port be "burned" and still be possible to use the router as a switch? What went wrong with the router when there were Lightning and overvoltage protection attached? |

I've got a linksys wireless router (BEFW11S4 V4) that causes lots of packet drops when I used it
wirelessly. I didn't realise that packet drop while surfing webpages until when I tried to play
online games. I tried Warcraft III and it becomes super laggy. I also tried to ping my router and
sometimes I got more than 700ms latency and packet losts. I don't know much about routers but I
believe it's something got to do with wireless buffers, however I couldn't find any related
help from the internet. I'm trying to ask people in trap17 what are thei...

Problems With Lg Dvd/cd-rw Combo
- ...not reading burned DVDs (2)
I have a strange problem and I hope some of you can help me solve it. Not long ago I made some
backup DVDs of my work. I made them at my friends, because I don't have a DVD writer. When I
try to open them in my computer, I have major problems. Sometimes it works, but mostly it
doesn't. My DVD/cd-rw combo unit from LG reads it as blank cd. It is strange, because sometimes
I get lucky and all the content of DVD is there and I can use it. But this happens after many
repetations of eject - go in - eject - ... Does anybody have a more stable and permanent solution...
