Spam bots often 'scrape' pages to glean information and collect email addresses. I don't
like that. To combat the Bots from collecting my address off of my site, I wrote a script that
includes 'obscures' the address in several ways. It adds 'AT' where the '@'
sign is and then replaces the '.' with 'DOT' so it is humanly readable, but not by
the Bots. Also, it encodes the 'mailto' and the address used in the 'mailto' so it
shows okay on the web page and on:hover, but it is actually encode into hex value....
Hi guys, I am presently developing a website which depends on JavaScript for its design. The
problem is that some browsers do not JavaScript enabled. So, in case Script cannot be run on the
browser, I have given a 301 (Meta) Redirect to a page which will tell them to enable the script.
What about the Search engine bots? Will they undergo the 301 Redirect? Or can they see the
actual page? Please help. ....
Where as i know, when we submit a website to a search engine, they usually send a BOT to our website
, which index all the pages and then adds it to the website. i have a stupid question that how do

alt="ohmy.gif" /> i was just thinking about it /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)"

I guess I have had a site up for a few months now and the Googlebots and others are beginning to
find the site, according to the Web Stats at least. My question is: when the Bots travel through
and spider a site, do they actually see the sub-domains associated with the main domain? And do the
contents of the sub-domains affect the schedule for the return of the Bots in the same way as good
Content would affect the return? For instance, if you regularly update a sub-domain and keep adding
or changing the content, will the Bots be back quicker or more regularly? Are the d....
I was looking around at the posts in the free hosting request section (just for fun), and noticed a
major problem with the applications. For every application that is made, the email address of that
applicant is shown to the world, including SPAMBOTS!!! This is a major flaw in the
aplication process, and will lead to increase levels of spam in every member's inbox. This is
the only thing that is wrong with any part of the Trap17 site. Editing topic title ....
I don't know if this is the correct forum for asking, but here goes. If someone has an opinion
about where this question is better placed, please move it or let me know... My trap17 subdomain
(jlhaslip.trap17.com) has been visited by 4 or 5 Bots this month. I have several different sites
hosted as subdomains. (ie: sub1.jlhaslip.trap17.com and sub2.jlhaslip.trap17.com). Each of these
subdomains have different content and are unrelated. When the Bots visit, do they investigate all
the subdomain index pages for their content and index them seperately? If so, how do I ....
I am curious about how to block the bots and / or spiders from accessing my subdomain. I believe
that I may have one using a terrible amount of Bandwidth. Is this possible? and how do I stop it?....
