Do you know any linux drivers for Scientific Atlanta WebSTAR 2000 series Cable Modem (USB) ? I searched all over the place and it seems it doesn't exist such drivers.

Contact your broadband service provider and they should have it on CD to be distributed. Those are little bit older models of cable modem and it's only available through the actual supplier (which is not open to public except directly through a distribution line).

I would like to appeal to people who have a working understanding of Adobe Acrobat 8. Adobe has
great software, though it is all very difficult to use and not the most user friendly stuff around.

to create a PDF file, either using a web site as source or a HTML document that resides on my hard

Hi members of trap17, I have a problem in the server that breaks my head for the past few days...

CentOS 5.0 kernel 2.6.18-8 Problem: journal commit I/O error Why this occurs: when we do some
read write operations in our server, without any reason the entire file system goes to read only
mode and all our future write operations fail.. and it spits journal commit I/O error Please
explain as to why this error occurs and what can be done to resolve this issue.....

I am thinking of getting Linux, but i'm not sure how compatible the programs will be between the
two systems... I mean would i be able to read .doc and other MS documents? Could also Linux produce

i really need a driver detector or something of that sort...thats is free, what i mean by that, is
like when you have missing drivers on your computer, it will detect them and automaticly install
them for you, i tried using driver detective, but its not free... i also tried installing the
drivers manually myself, so i downloaded them and started installing them, installed a few, then it
started to mess up the computer and everytime i try to run the installation wizard it restarts the
computer and tells me there was a critical error.... so does anybody have any links or....

Hey, i'm just wondering if anyone could help me. I'm doing a project in school in access,
and i've accidentally unchecked all of the buttons in the startup box ( Tools>startup), and now

Do you know of a good and free Windows Clipboard Extension? I use the Copy and Paste function a
lot, but I need a software that can 1. allow me to see the clipboard 2. save my clippings and
organize my clippings (under categories if possible) 3. let me choose from my clippings and paste it
anytime and anywhere I want. I worked with an old version of Yankee Clipper (vintage 2000) but I
have changed operating systems since then. And the new YClipper is already commercial. I'd

hi i use "phone try dial up" to show me my incoming call to my line ( i use this telephon line same
for my internet connection) this program must show incoming calls number when i am useing my line as
a internet connection. but it dose not work . call waiting is enabled in my line too. program test

Got My Linux Browsing Now

Hey everyone, I have been scavenging my newly installed Linux OS - PCLinuxOS for a way to get it to
start browsing. You know what? this thing has been giving me hellmformsome days now cos no matter
what I do, it just wont browse or connect to any local area network. But now, I have been able to
do that without consulting anyone. Well I can only say that I am happy for been able to get it to
start working.....

Having Problems Installing Apache2 On Linux

I am installing Apache 2 on Ubuntu Linux 6.06 (downloaded appropriate binary), and have followed the
instructions from several places, including apach.org... I have got to the point where it says to
enter make , just after the ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/apache2 , where I also added
--enable-mods-shared=most , for the common options. That all went fine, took a little while, then
when it's done I am supposed to enter make , I presume to gather up all the newly created
files. This command just does not exist. returned bash error and it is not in the manual.....

I recently perfomed a check for updates on my extensions and updated several including my google
tool bar. The update stopped at 452 of 677 and the green bar froze, I tried restarting ad
re-updating but the same thing happened. So I stupidly removed the extension and then tried to
instal the latest version from scratch but the same problem persists so now I cannot add the toolbar
back in. I have tried completely uninstalling FF but when I reinstall it has all my extensions in
place and the same freeze occurs when I try to re-install googlebar. So, anyone know how to ....

Im going over to the good side, (getting Ubuntu next Monday), and need a good PHP++ editor for
Linux. There are just so frikken many out there that it is scary. Prefferable with minimal HTML

Linux Question: Amarok And File Permissions

hey, i use to use Linux DC++ to download music from some hubs and i usually download it to
/home/downloads/ and then i move the files to my collection on another HDD a sata one, on
sda3/music/ but when i move the files using krushader root mode they become posessed by root and
amarok can't play them displaying a locker on the file's icon. I tried to " chmod 774 music
", where music is my music directory, as root in konsole but no luck. What should i do to make a
whole directory accessible from amarok as user?....

(version 4.0.18), Webmin (version 1.250) and Usermin (version 1.180). If I try to connect to the
MySQL server with the username root and no password, I get an invalid login error from Webmin,

Hi, I just installed the ftp server proftpd in my linux machine. I executed it and i can login it
with my user. It redirects me to my /home/myuser. Until here everything ok. My idea was configuring
a ftp server where a predifined user could access only a folder's range with read only
permisions and also a folder with write permisions but not read permisions. I am not sure about the
steps to follow to do this. So i thought that maybe someone in trap is using proftpd and could help
