Bulk Mail Newsletter

Blacklaser
I'm working with a student organisation and we're looking forward to send out a monthly newsletter to over 500 poeple and so far we've been using gmail for our mailing list, but I wonder if there is a better way to have a newsletter mailing list where poeple can sign up/sign out more easily without someone having to add or remove them manually.

Any suggestions? Any help is greatlyt appreciated!

There are various PHP scripts out there that can be used to manage newsletters, including people being able to add and remove themselves easily. However, they put considerable load on the server and if you intend to host it here at Trap17, you might want to look into one that delays sending each message (e.g. there is a 10 second gap between each one) which helps to lower the load somewhat. People have caused problems with these scripts before, however, so you need to be careful, and not send a newsletter out every day or something.

Ok thanks for the help, I'll have to look into that.

I was also wondering if there were any web-based free mailing list services with little or no advertisments?

QUOTE NEW YORK - In the year 2009, on the 25th of April, a man named Greg is supposed to get an

e-mail says, "are you wearing women's clothing?" The e-mail was sent by none other than Greg
