Hello,Im going to set up a simple website to use with my buddies. A main page where I can update from time to time and a forum are all I need. I know WYSIWYG builders, ftp uploaders and forum moderating. Im thinking of using phpBB since it's free and seems simple and reliable, right? My question is can I build the forum on my local computer then upload to hosting service? The readme.txt recomends to install online in host machine. And this is what I need to do, right? -build an index.html with WYSIWYG, upload it to main folder of host. -create a folder in the host and upload forum files under that. -give a link on main page to index.html file that's in the forum folder. And Im going to apply for Trap17 hosting service. I know Trap17 control panel has may usefull tools. Should I use something from there, rather than phpBB, WebPageMarker and CoreFTP softwares. Oh, oh... By the way, can I upload regular files to Trap17 and let people download it? Im off to phpBB's official site to learn more...

I would suggest that you check out the Tutorial section and look for a Tutorial written by me showing how to combine an AEF Forum with a web-site. AEF Forums are also free, easy to install and has many popular features including a shoutbox by default.

But for stuff found in Fantastico! you may be better off getting the scripts from their relative websites if there's a newer version out there of the script than the one in Fantastico! Well setting up PHPBB forum is really easy and you will probably want have nay problems with it if you have some however people wioll be very helpful around these forums. Also the point is that you should checkout tutorial section for further encouragement. And one other important thing is that you should think about setting up subdomain from your main page this is somewhat useful thing to do when you are working with forums. I usually split such important section of the site in several different forums. Best Regards

My New Site Template
Heres a new template of mine done in photoshop (3) This is my new template I'm going to be using for my new site. It took me 3 days to do. I spend
day 1 drawing it up sorry I cannot upload my draft sketch as my scanner is not working. The next 2

A Small Html Problem
How to display foreign characters correctly when designing a site. (4) I was wondering how I could solve a small problem. I was told that some people see accented and
umlauted letters (such as " é " and " ë ") as question marks (" ? ") on my website. I come across
the same thing sometimes when looking at websites which use non-English characters. Funnily enough,
the other day, I looked at a site and the apostrophy ( ' ) was also shown as a question mark.
That is a very common character usually, I would think. I thought it had something to do with the
character encoding settings, and let me also mention I use Mozilla Firefox as my brows....

Web Site Design Question

Is the PHP code convertable? (1) I use Proboards Forums, which doesn't allow PHP. I've been looking for a RPG forum game for
Proboards. But sadly, they only come in PHP. So, I was wondering, is it possible to convert that PHP
into HTML? Can Java Script be converted into HTML, too? Some of these codes are in java, as well.
If you don't know, the RPGs have stats, classes, battling, shops, ect. I've seen it on many
forums. I know that boards like InvisionFree abd PHPBB are great for this kind of thing, but I feel
comfortable on Proboards. Plus, those boards confuse me. I know it's sil....

Integrate Blog Into Existing Site?

Fp2003 - Tables
Hope this is the right forum...? (7) Hi, I have designed a page within a table - three columns all adding up to 100% (no fixed pixel
column widths). The thing is that when I previously previewed it in other browsers it showed the
whole page - a but squashed, but everything was in the window without having to scroll horizontaly.
I made some adjustments without interfering with column widths, but now previews require horizontal
scrolling to view the page. Previously the text links in the centre column would wrap to cater for
the smaller browser size, but not now. Also, at the foot of the page there is a b....
