QUOTE(lil_chris @ May 18 2005, 09:52 PM) just wanted to know which Content Management is the best and which one you use and why. help me pick one well... it would be best if you code or make your own website from scratch, or install all of the Content Management scripts in cPanel, and try them all.
Wel hi there.i think fantastico is good.
if you try wordpress, you will love it.cause it is simple and fast.i dont if you are starting from scratch then try all of them realay.this will help all of us to know what u like cause.many people love phpbb and wordpress. try and tell me what you like.
Wordpress all the way
I use it for blogging, you can add other content pages as well though and theres plenty of useful addons, hacks etc The Phpbb one isnt bad either.
I agree Wordpress, I dont use it but i did. Now i dont use any but if i did it would be wordpress.
I think theres a new version out, Ill check. I also would say that Wordpress is the best, but there are also other CMS to be found good and helpfully, for example: Mambo OS: This is very good, not very easy, but when you know how to handle it, this would be a good choice Based on: html PHPNuke: Very very simple, most beginners' first choice (do not understand me wrong if you're using it), but it doesn't look as cool as Mambo Based on: PHP
I would have to say that Mambo is one of the best content management portals out there. However, since there are so many you need to figure out which system best suits your needs.
Take the advise that the other members have given you and try them all before you decide on one in particular. You should also look at the administration part of each one to figure out which one is the easiest to manage. Good luck
I have been using PHP-Nuke version 7.5 for about around the period of 6 months now. It's treated me really well and it's pretty much as simple as they come. Even though it is very simple it is more than capable because there is so much support for it all over the internet. I've downloaded tons of new features including plenty of "Blocks" and "modules". The only trouble I'm having so far is making a decent theme ;)hint hint;). If you want to make a website that is very simple to maintin and pretty effective in doing so PHP-Nuke is definately the one. From what I understand I think that the latest free version is 7.6 unless 7.7 is now free but I doubt that as it only got released to the public very recently. Go check out some websites like PHP nuke official homepage and get it from there. Also go check out sites like http://www.phpnukefiles.com as they are pretty good at getting support if you need it.
Basically I know very very little about PHP and I think my website isn't too bad and I manage to pull off the impression that I'm a little better than I am
I am currently using the Zentri Portal System, which can be found at http://kenetix.net
It's one of the newer portals. I've tried PHP-Nuke and Post-Nuke, but I found them to be too messy for my liking. I find Zentri to be a bit neater, with a cleaner appearance. It's pretty simple, and quick, to get a Zentri portal up and running. It is also very easy to manage. There are numerous great features, and you can always download more modules and blocks [in other words, add-ons...] to install. But since it IS a fairly new portal, there are not very many modules or blocks. At least not as much as php-nuke and post-nuke has. Another downside is that even though it does have integrated forums, they are a bit....different from most other forums, and can be a bit difficult to get accustomed to especially if you have been using phpbb or ipb for a while. Unfortunately, the main sites [Dev-Zentri.com and TechZentri.com] are down, but there are a few very helpful websites out there. Here's a few: http://kenetix.net http://unit-21.com http://zentriresources.com [Seems to be dead
just use cutenews (available at cutephp.com) and design your own website and just include the php to display your news.. VERY SIMPLE! more simple than any complete cms - in my opinion.

I like and use Mambo for a production site, and I can tell you that it's a little bit inflexible (unless you are a developer and are willing to write your own components and such), but is very powerful and easy to use after the first couple of weeks or so. I love the ease and reliability of adding new functionality to it, whether it be through modules or components (unlike in SMF where mod installation can really go haywire, that's another story considering that SMF is a forum not a CMS). WordPress is actually a blogging tool, although you can make nice other types of web sites with it. Intstalling plugins and themes is a bit different from Mambo (it invloves FTPing or otherwise uploading a directory to your server), but WordPress is nevetheless pretty easy to use (it even won a spot in this year's PC World Top 100 list).
well what is a content management system i dont know what is it. please give me some details . which one is better Nucleus or Wordpress.
QUOTE(mbd5882 @ May 19 2005, 01:18 AM) I hate cute-news, Not complicated. I need summit hard, Like well there all easy but still ill kill whoever make the cute scripts. I have used it be4 for like 5mins, Then took it off. That doesn't make sense, just thought I'd comment on it. Why would you want a CMS if it's hard? Isn't that the point of one - to easily update?
I have been using Mambo for a long time and love it in every way...
I Found the administration more clear and better than php-nuke etc... php-nuke/post-nuke might have more features but mambo has quite a lot of components that you can plug-in according to your requirement... Have not tried wordpress yet... Cheers.
