Err.. This is the third new homepage that I have created for my website! After making the second one and getting better feedback except the fact that it needs more color, I decided to make an even BETTER one! Or at least I think it's better.
Alright, again.. remember that the comments thing still runs on the original CSS.. so just ignore that. >_>
So tell me which is the best, and rate it out of 10! Please?
What did you use for your frontpage, was it a editor or preinstalled? Well i dont like the colors in that page to tell you the truth. I think that it needs more of a clean look. There should also be something filling up the white space all over the page, all your content is on the bottom which is kinda wierd. Overall im going to have to give it a 6 right now sorry. I think you should consider using a different editor or preinstalled script like php nuke. This is just my opinion you can just ignore what i said and continue on if you dont care what i have to say but you asked.
Just check out the three designs. Here's my ranking of each one:
Original: 5 Not bad, although the background colour made it difficult to see the text. You also should add a graphic to catch the reader's attention instead of empty space.
Style 2: 6 Same critique as the original. At least the text is easier to see this time.
Most Recent: 7 Same as before. I like the colour and the text is much easier to see this time.
Comments on the above: Try experimenting a little more - or opt for a "cleaner-looking" design.
I like and have voted for /page.php ¦¦ /index.php has too much decoration and makes the text hard to read. /homepage.php is plainer. Decoration rules, but over-decoration make a page look over-decorative
I don't know how the frontpage theme fits in with the rest of site. Consistency is just as important as decoration. If you whole site ends up being designed like /index.php, you'll lose yourself many customers because their eyes will go funny as they cannot read the text. You may have visually impaired customers who will go off the site straight away. That's a no!
Through the results of your poll decide between /homepage.php and /page.php due to the outlined reasons. The voters may have just took a look at /index.php and thought "Hey these graphics look nice" and voted for that.
If you've just ignored what I just said at least remember, a customer is everyone. He can have a slightest disability which will make such a difference to your site.
I like the first on HJ, although i would enjoy the second one a bit better if that ran off on the CSS of the board. Changing from Orangey-beta theme to gray isn't exactly fun for the eyes...
I don't know if anybody is planning on participating in the world-wide Impeachment Day internet
black-out, but we are at BetterWindowsSoftware. So, if we are going to do it - so can you. QUOTE
(taken from an impeachnet.net email I got) Starting at noon ET on September 1, 2006, and
lasting 24 hours, websites and blogs all across the internet are being asked to replace their front
pages with the single word "Impeach" in simple white text on a black background. Here's an
example: http://impeachnet.net http://www.impeachnet.net/blog/about/ Visitors ....
Ive been working on my site for about 3-4 months, and its mostly a site, for friends, music and
games. I just wanted to put the IPB b/c of the games and the Army System, not really for the
forums, but maybe someday it will be usefull, although i dont know what to make the topics on. But
anyways, i hope you guys like it if not......its ok:D But give me your comments please. Website:

I've already set the CSS as the default for the homepage and the comments.. I seriously think
that it's the best CSS that I've ever used and the best HTML that I've ever coded!
Click Here to view my NEWEST homepage! I learned some new CSS techniques like 'display:
block;' and 'position: absolute;' which is what enabled me to create the navbox on the
left with the links and stuff. So, this will be my final design for a while (most likely) so tell
me what you think. Thanks in advance! --Mike....
After last time, getting very horrible reviews for my homepage, I've decided to create another
one. Here is the one that I currently use: Current Homepage and here is the one that I have just
created: New Homepage . I've also added a comment system for it as well.. but it runs on the
old homepages' CSS so it may possibly changing depending on the reviews I get for my new
homepage. Thanks in advance, --Mike--....
Here is the homepage that I have just recently finished coding.. http://subzer0.net It is Valid
XHTML, and there are only a couple errors I need to fix before it will be Valid CSS. I also coded
many other files for my site.. On the homepage, put your cursor over the word "edits" and a little
box should pop up and show you some of my coded files! /tongue.gif' border='0'
style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tongue.gif' /> ....
Here is a link: http://subzero.trap17.com http://subzero.trap17.com/boards/index.php I want
to know if I could improve them in any way. My homepage is a little messed up (a lot of the text
links to my boards) but I think it's pretty good. My message boards run on the at0 (Archetype
0) source code and I think they are pretty good since I have gotten 60 users and it's been
pretty successful.....
