I have a domain, but it's not exactly a TLD, uni.cc, but since I have a domain in Trap17, I have an option to having subdomains like subdomain.domain.uni.cc.
Here's my question. I want to make some guys use a subdomain of mine. Is this allowed? It's not like I'm charging them or anything. It's a bit like hosting them I suppose... Don't worry, their site isn't illegal in anyway. I just wonder if "hosting" a subdomain for other people is allowed. Sorry if this disturbed anyone in a way.
I seem to remember someone asking about this before and I remember than the answer was something like "yes, as long as you realize that whatever they host is your responsibility".

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing Icemarle. I'm gonna host games (that's not all my site's about, don't worry, i'm not violating any TOS) and i wanted to provide my users a small website so they can talk about their game in detail and provide screenshots, pictures, etc. I wouldn't think about charging them unless you were charging me.
OK then, although waiting fills me with anxiety, I hope that it's OK... *waits in hope that it's allowed* Anyway, it's nice to know that I'm not the only one who's asking about the same thing.
In the mean time, I'd like to share my point of view. Ultimately, you will be responsible for whoever uses your hosting. So if you know the risk that comes with hosting/sharing with someone else, I wouldn't see why it wouldn't be allowed. Believe it or not, I know few members that have already done this and been doing this from the beginning. I kind of know that one hosting account was created and there are multiple people logging in to keep the credits up. I think OpaQue has anticipated this and thus gave each cPanel, each hosting account with creating more than one FTP account AND ability to create anonymous FTP account as well. Otherwise, your cPanel would only show 1 or 2 subdomain, 1 FTP account and much lower bandwidth limits.
I applied in July for hosting, here . I got it, everything was ok for the last 3 months. Now I

Well, a few days ago I terminated my hosting using the Credit System 2.0, but it still has me in the

questions about it: When I first checked out trap17's website, I noticed you provide shell
access... Is this really true? If it is, would I be able to run, for example, an irc bot with the
account? Another thing... Your web server does not gzip content. This causes more traffic to be

Sorry if I should have read certain bits of the forum for an answer to my question, but I have
looked and cannot seem to find it in the usual topics. I would like to find a bit more about
domains, and especially addon ones. I see from my cpanel that you can have 9 parked domains and 9
addon domains. At the moment I am using 1 parked domain, which I use as an address for my website
and email. I did it like that since that was the way I was advised to set up my domain. But, if that
is the purpose a parked domain serves, then what are addon domains? Can you, just like wit....
I would like to close my hosting account because I am moving to a new paid host but I am unsure how
to close the account so that if I need to in the future I can open it without having negative

Hi, I am having some serious problems with my sub domains. I registered a site with trap17 named
http://zoebelkin.co.cc . Then I made 2 sub domains for the site. One is for the forums section
and the other is for the gallery section. 1> forums.zoebelkin.co.cc 2> gallery.zoebelkin.co.cc
Whenever I type these in the browser adress bar the browser gives an output that it cannot find the
web sites. But they are complete and should show something. Also using www. in front of the sub
domains didn't help. Is www. needed in front of the sub domains. Could you just....
i need some help in addon domains My domain registor uses A record hence in the DNS setting i have
to put the ip address of my trap17 hosting account. The main domain works out perfectly after
changing the DNS to trap17 ip in my domain registor. Now the problem is when i tried adding a

Good day! I have some questions about my hosting account. I have been idle for quite some time
and unfortunately, I wasn't able to gather enough credits so my hosting got suspended (after my
credits reached negative). Last weekend I gathered enough (around 10 credits) so my website could be
reactivated again. I was told by my friend yesterday that my site was now accessible however, I
realized that it was only my main page that has been activated, the subdomains were not. Whenever I

Today, I have managed to screw some 10 hosting accounts. It was my mistake by running the script
while we're in the transition from Process v1.0 to Manage v2.0 Hosting Account System. For your
information we will be using trap17.com/manage instead of the process page from now on. Due to my

the days we get for our account fewer when applying for the hosting package 2, comparing applying to

it advertised/suggested in OpaQue's Signature. so. . .first of all, what is DNS? and is that
relelvent to me at all for this? secondly, i can only forward with my domain using the 1&1 control
panel, BUT is there a way to edit all that in trap17's control panel? because at the moment all
