| | terry pratcherr, man with a hat, is one of my best fantasy authors(above tolkien, discworld is funny). he has written a very successffull discworld book series, about which we shall talk here.
discworld is(as its name tells us) a flat world, that is carried through space at the back of four elephants, that are standing on the the only turtle ever to feature on the Hertzsprung-Russell diagram. the sex of elephants is still unknown.
till now i have read about four books of the discworld series, and a long time ago his books for children(wings, diggers...), yet still favourite to me is the color of magic, first of the discworld series(hrun, the smartest barbarian, he doesnt move his lips while thinking:D).
so tell here what you think of discworld, which books are your favourite, least favourite(althou i know there is no such thing as that) and owerall score of the whole series. |

I don't know if this is allowed in the forum, because its Chinese orientated. But never the
less, let me make this post. Do anyone of you read Chinese Swordplay Novels? I find them very
interesting. Some titles are Legend of the Condor Heroes(She Diao Ying Xiong Juan), Return of the
Condor Heroes(Shen Diao Xia Lu) and Duke of Mount Deer. All there are written by Mr. Jin Yong,
though there are other authors as well but Mr. Jin Yong is one of the most famed ones. There are
many other titles but as they are in Chinese and its quite hard to give an exact translation of...

- Has anyone ever read Murakami's novels? (5)
Hello again! ANother quick question - has anybody out there ever read any works by Haruki
Murakami? If so, which books did you like? The first stories I read was "A Wild Sheep Chase" and
its sequel "Dance Dance Dance". Some time later, I also read "South of the Border, West of the Sun".
I've liked all of them, although "Sheep" and "Dance" (both set in Hokkaido) made an impression
on me. Anyone out there with their recommendations?...
Resident Evil Novels
- Anyone read the Resident Evil Novels By S.D.Perry? (6)
Hi all. Just joined forums and thought a good first post would be about the newly founded series of
books I found. They are Resident Evil Books written by S.D.Perry. They are older books but are still
great. There are 7 in total with 5 being the novelised versions of the games (1, 2, 3, Code Veronica
and Zero Hour) and 2 are her own spinn off creations which tell a different story but staying in the
Resident Evil Theme. I just started reading the first one which is the novel of the first Resident
Evil game and a good thing about it is that it actually tells you a bit ab...

Graphic Novels' Popularity In Mainstream Society
- What are your thoughts on this? (0)
Recently, graphic novels have begun to become more widespread. They are even becoming accepted as
something of the norm. Time magazine listed the graphic novel Watchmen on their list of "100 best
novels from 1923 to present." Obviously, like novels not all graphic novels should be accepted as
great literary works; however there are some graphic novels that have vast merit and grand
educational value. Is it time for some graphic novels to be put alongside such classic literature as
Siddhartha and Jane Eyre in the English classroom?...
