The future of internet browsing is here! I installed this about 4 hours ago & havnt been able to leave it since. Basically, you install the extension, select what kind of sites you like, & click the 'stumble' button in your toolbar. It is highly addictive, I seen things that id never dream of looking for before, all utterly brilliant. If you find something you dont like, click the thumbs down button & similar sites will never bother you again. To give you an idea of some of the things I come across, check these out: http://www.everyvideogame.com/ (you name it, its here) http://www.kingofdefenders.com/ (funny John Terry game, worth looking at to see the cartoon Sven) http://www.wheredidthetimego.com/ (Tells you how you have wasted your life so far) http://www.merzo.net/ (every sci-fi spaceship imaginable, side by side & to scale - a bit geeky but interesting anyway) http://www.channelchooser.com/ (free tv channels online) http://svt.se/hogafflahage/hogafflaHage_si...or/hestekor.swf (weird but funny singing horse thing) http://www.changar.com/archives/go.html (mad rabbit that clings onto your cursor) http://www.typorganism.com/asciiomatic/ (convert any jpeg into an ascii image) http://www.thebestlegaladvice.com/ (strange one this - nothing to do with law, but if you like 80s music this is for you. 1500 free music videos from the decade taste forgot. Utter class) That is just a small selection, I recommend you install this & go find your own internet nirvana. http://www.stumbleupon.com/

Ya there is a topic on here a while back. I used this feature probably 6 months ago and it gave me entertainment. I used it when I was bored but I got rid of it. I did find a few useful sites and I'll probably go back to using it again if I'm ever bored but school is starting and I gotta long road ahead so I passed it on to my sister. She continues to use it in fact she downloaded it again yesterday. I only used it for a few weeks. Have fun though. By the way make sure to quote a list of links.

I dont know if theres a topic on this sometime back, some may say there was. But using this sometime back, it is indeed addictive, but like many addictive programs/games, many get bored (mind you I did as well) with it and get rid of it. It's fun though, but I'll wont be using it for a while unless if i'm really really bored or something.

It sounds kind of like Pandora ( www.pandora.com), is it? I never thought of applying that kind of system to websites. Maybe someone could do it with video games or even books.

I havnt been able to leave it alone since I installed it. Now I have it set with my preferences I only see stuff im interested in. You find yourself clicking the button just one more time to see what appears... I just added Trap17 to the Stumble database, so with a bit of luck the site should get some visitors they would never normally see.

StumbleUpon is a fairly sweet extension, and for me it was one of those thing that when you hear about it you wonder why noone has tried it before. Everything about the service is good, least of all the original idea. This is the first thing I install on a new Firefox installation and has served me well during the long boring hours when nothing happens. I must admit though I have began to lose some interest in it as of late but thats to be expected, certainly in the first few weeks or so this extension will help anyone to find stuff they didn't even know was out there (like the time it found me www.howtofoldashirt.com, I'm now a master at that by the way).

It's a really good way to kill time.. I've had it installed on Firefox forever. I dont use it often, but when I get in the mood, I can sit there and surf through sites for hours.. you just can't stop XD And yeah, Bee, it's sort of like Pandora.. actually, I found that site, Pandora, using StumbleUpon, once upon a time.. XD

Firefox The Most Unstable Browser?
- (10)
Clicky It was interesting to read. We all know about the heavy memory usage that FF takes up, but
over 2 YEARS no one has made an attempt to fix it. Someone points out too that the bug isn't
limited to RAM, but the bug even bogs down the CPU. I suppose that this would be a real issue for
people with slower computers, but with high usage rates of the CPU just for browsing multiple tabs,
the life of the hardware is at stake. The reason why it's being stated as the most unstable
browser is that apparently with the high CPU usage Windows can't cope and crashe...
Meeting People In Real Life From The Internet
- (11)
What does everyone think about meeting people from the internet in real life? Everyday when i'm
at school or have nothing else to do I talk to people from places such as Canada, Australia, or
Europe and I build an internet friendship. It seems that after chatting nearly everyday you seem to
know more about a person living thousands of miles away than the people you see everyday. I went on
a trip to Canada last week for this folklore festival party and met around 20 people from this one
forum site I always go to. It was really amazing meeting these guys in person ...

Just been thinking on a simple analogy to internet and life. If you would say that internet is
space, and webistes are stars, than somehow i think it would lose meaning, couse most stars have
some sort of planets or thingies that rotate around them. If internet would be space then probably
web servers would be stars, and backbone computers would be galaxies. Backbone computers than again
are just main bandwith carriers around the world, and they couldn't be compared to galaxies
beacouse galaxies are more kind of a collections of stars, and then all web servers would...
My Thoughts On Why Internet Explorer Is So Popular.
- (11)
I see little point in the "What browser do you use?" topic except to discuss the pros and cons of
different browsers. It's obvious that most people will use Internet Explorer because almost all
computers that are bought for people or sold to them are pre-loaded with Some version of Windows, in
which the only browser is Microsoft's own, Internet Explorer. And since a big proportion of
first-time computers users are not so computer savvy and do not become so because they do not really
need to, they will use what they are given. In the internet Cafe I am typing...
How Old Will People Live 80 Years In The Future?

operations or something like that, won't there? I understand that noone can know for sure (of
course), but what do you all think? I mean I know that people will keep on living longer, because
as history can most surely tell us, people are living longer and longer. For example, in the times
of the Native Americans, living to 50 was considered living old. Please post what you think/know

Ipb/firefox Problem
- (6)
This has me a bit stumped, when using either of my Firefox versions (1.5 & 2.2) in here now it
takes an age for the characters to appear when I type. I thought it may have been a plugin which
was affecting things, but most of my the plugins for 1.5 dont work with 2.2 yet, so it cant be
that as both versions have the same problem. I've cleared cache/cookies/clear all cookies set
by this board, restarted twice - once in safe mode, but its still the same. It only happens on
IPB forums, and only in the text entry box - not in the title/description boxes. ...

This problem never occured to me until just recently. Now this is the third time that this is
happening in less than a week. Basically what happens is that the internet connection gradually
starts to slow down over a period of 10 mins or so and eventually it becomes extremely slow, to the
point that it becomes almost useless. At that point, a message pops up at the bottom of the screen
saying "Network Connection Unplugged", eventhough everything is plugged up just fine according to my
inspection. Than after 10-20 seconds, that message disappears and the internet pops ...

I have always been interested in the Internet and the World Wide Web ever since my brother
introduced it to me a few years back. I liked the fact that you can be easily transported to
another place while looking at visually appealing web sites. I didn’t know it then but that incident
eventually lead me to my course in college. After school hours in high school I was always going to
a local internet café and I would spend hours doing nothing but surfing and chatting. Eventually
after that I started to design web sites. It was harder then because I didn’t have a comp...
