Since there seems to be a fair few people here that are interested in the paranormal and unexplained, etc... I thought I might post this here and see what everyone thought. This happened probably a couple of months ago and I've just become interested in what it could have been. I was sitting up in my bed...I was just about to go to sleep, when I saw this thing just about 2 metres away. It was a little white ball of light, only about the size of a tennis ball, hovering in mid-air. It flew up and did a loop, and then came back around and flew straight at me. I closed my eyes just before it got to me, and then at the time I estimate it would have hit, my heart skipped a beat. Then I opened my eyes, and it was gone. I have no idea what it could have been. At first I thought I was seeing things and it was just my imagination, but it was weird I felt my heart skip a beat right when it hit, and I've never halucinated or anything before. I also don't believe in ghosts or UFOs or anything, so I think this is really weird. Anyway, does anyone have any ideas or anything on what it could have been? I don't think I've ever even heard of little light balls appearing from nowhere, so I have no idea what it was. I just think it will be interesting to hear thoughts and ideas from other people...even if you think it's my imagination, you could be right

Hmm, interesting story. But it's kinda hard to tell what you've experienced. There have been experiences where ghosts are in a form of a floating light, but i dont remember seeing something about one appearing in real life, but only in pictures. And usually ghosts arent really all that willing to show themselves to others that easily. Also, you say your heart skipped a beat. Kinda hard to keep track of your heart beats, unless your heart is beating hard enough to feel it. You've must've been pretty scared or something for you to feel something like that. My only explanation for this is, you probably did fall asleep, dreamed it, and on the part where you say you opened your eyes, that was you waking up.

I would certainly have to agree with truefusion in this instance. Though, I have seen balls of light floating. I just happened to watch the one in question for about 6 hours. I was outside laying in a hammock. In no way could I have been sleeping, because I was constantly getting up, and I didn't go to sleep the entire night. I stayed up through to the next day. The clostest it ever got to me was about 30 feet.

 how about have ur brain check or ur head... sometimes if there is damage in the brain the effect is the seeing of glitters of light or something like that ...

|Sorry mate i dont know what this could have been but ive seen on the tv that these are like ghosts if you go on google and type in got ball or somthing like that you might be able to find stuff on it..

You probably just woke up, dazed, and sunlight was reflecting. That's probably what you saw. If that wasn't what you saw, you need to go to the psycologist.

He said he was just about to go to sleep. So he most likely didn't 'just wake up', and it is presumedly not at a time of the day when the sunlight is visible. Anyway, I'm a logical thinker (or at least, I like to tell myself that, anyway), and I don't believe in 'paranormal' stuff or whatever, so I'm sure there's some kind of reasonable explanation. People do sometimes see funny things - and it doesn't mean they are 'crazy' or at all neurologically damaged. So anyway, here's my theory - based entirely on what you posted (and assuming you aren't just making it up for a reaction). Seeing as you were about to go to sleep, you were probably tired. Your eyes tend to do funny things when you are tired, and I know myself that they sometimes 'play tricks' on me and I think I see things which I know don't exist when my eyes are heavy, especially if I've been sitting in front of a glaring screen for extended periods of time. As I'm sure you would know, you can also physically react in funny ways to certain situations - and your heart rate increasing or seeming to stop or otherwise be affected is certainly not uncommon, especially in circumstances where you might be shocked or suprised (or excited or scared etc etc). So I think it's possible you may have been a bit startled, and noticed your heart rate had altered - I think that it is more likely you suddenly became aware of your heart rate after being oblivious to it, creating the illusion that it had stopped and then started again, rather than it actually happening. Like when you look at a light from a funny angle and sometimes don't notice it - you may then change your view and suddenly notice it, making it appear as though it was just switched on as you changed your perspective. Anyway, I'm tired and am starting to mumble about who knows what. So I'll stop here. Draw your own conclusions.

I believe in ghost and UFOS and I believe it was a dead soul.I dont know why its with you lol but someone in your family must have passed away or someone who use to live in your house. I have never seen a ghost but I think I seen a UFO before but I am 100% positive that they exist.I am not very sure UFOS do but I know ghost do.Its not to be scared of though because they wont do anything to you.

At the moment, I think I'm leaning toward what Spectre said. It's true, when you're tired your eyes can play tricks on you so it could have been that. I know I couldn't have been asleep previously and had just woken up. I was sitting up in bed, and the light was still on...I hadn't turned it out yet. And I don't get to sleep that fast. I wasn't really that scared either. It happened so quickly, I don't think I got the chance to get scared. It was all over in about 2 seconds. I have had my heart skip beats before (although not that often, so it would be a fluke if it just decided to happen just then) and you can feel it. Oh, and Acidify...nobody in my family has died...that I know of. There was an old lady that lived here before us though and she died here. I don't really believe in ghosts though, so this is all really strange to me.

I do believe in Ghosts an spirits, but as far as I know ghosts will not show themselves to others. So i'd say that this might be a reflection of light some thing that might have passed by, or even someone naughty enough to scare you to your death. You should've asked your brother or sister about this, because they might be the culprits.

The strangest thing I saw today was an adult human pushing a baby human in a device known to these humans as "prams". Shocking isn't it? Humans are the worst creatures to ever enhabit this planet.

The rational side of me wouldn't leave out "panic attack" as a possibility. I've heard you can experience a quick shock like that where your heart races but I don't know if it would cause those visuals. I have heard a person can just start having them though. Personally though, I'm leaning towards the idea that it's a spirit, i.e. angel or demon. Just throwing out an extra opinion I guess

I just think it will be interesting to hear thoughts and ideas from other people...even if you think it's my imagination, you could be right i know this is an old topic but since it was recently brought up again, i guess i will put in my input yes, the easiest and simplist explaination would be the eyes playing tricks and nothing more for whatever reason(bad eyes, running of the eyes, sleepy, etc...) now i am not going to go so far as to tell you what it was, but i will add more insight here. i have been studying recently the posibilites of what surround us that most people don't know or recognize. and i tend to believe in a lot of information in my continued efforts to understand the less common or understood. what you could have also experienced is what is known as an orb. a past soul who came to visit. as i am told they start out as orbs and can trasform in to an image or they can stay in the same form as an orb. most commonly they appear in photographs, not known you took a picture of one until the picture is developed. now when you see one of these, i am told you can communicate with it and it will hear you. don't be afraid though. it can't hurt ya from my understanding. sometimes they stay until their purpose or yours is fullfilled, sometimes they will continue to follow you wherever you go. now i did my own experiments without any conclusion with what i experienced personally where i have seen orbs in pictures. i have seen them move when multiple pictures have been taken. they are white, usually rounded. i also took pictures my own self with my own camera and noticed wierd *BLEEP* by a cemetary and outside my apartment. they weren't white, but green. they were rounded but looking more closely, they all had 6 sides to the green images that looked similar to the white orbs but differnt color and slightly different shape. now like i said, i never drew conclusions to what i experienced. but i do know what i believe what i believe is that there are spirits who will visit from time to time and they will be noticed when they want to be noticed. also, i have seen images personally in my parents home before i moved out. usually in the corner of my eye.....sometimes in the shape of a small animal and sometimes in the shape of someone human. also, a couple times was not out of the corner of my eye or directly in front of me but sorta in the middle of the two areas. it's a little freaky and makes ya think. i've experienced other weird crap and now i am just beginning to try to take notice of possibilites other than the easiest explainations as i believe there is more out there than we know and always will be.

I'm Having A Strange Problem With My Ping In Cs:s
(27) Hey guys. I bought Counter Strike Source, and I was playing it for a while but it was very slow
because of my bad graphics card. I ended up moving and getting a new graphics card at about the same
time, so graphically the game runs great now. However, I can't play online now because, for some
reason, every server thnks my ping is too high and kicks me off. It doesn't matter what location
the server is in, it always thinks my ping is too high. The starnge part is, my highest ping is

Is 2d A Thing Of The Past?
(12) This topic is sort of about 2d games competing with 3d games, and aimed more at game developers. Is
2D in the past? With modern gaming, would you even consider purchasing a 2D game? I use trap17 to
run a site for RPG Maker XP/VX(I know a few others on trap17 do also), which is an all round site
for creating 2D games. Some interesting discussions have come up on the forums on 2d vs 3d game
making. I usually go with 3D saying that it is much better than 2D, and with todays modern games,

Free Graphic Programs As Opposed To The Real Thing
(5) I am sure many of you have heard of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator and their "FREE"
competition, The Gimp and Inkscape. Personally myself I love all Adobe Software, but can't
afford any of it. Anyone here use The Gimp or Inkscape and can they show some of there work from it.
I have just recently started using the two, although I design my websites with Adobe Photoshop, but
it's my fiances brother's Adobe Photoshop. So I just use it more than he does to get my work

What Is The Advantage Of Safe Mode Off?
Why is "safe mode off" a good thing? (3) I've seen a lot of webhosts where a paid upgrade is "Safe Mode OFF". I know here at Trap17 that
it's turned off by default on all webhosting, but I'd just like to know, why is this an
advantage? What features that are enabled are so important that they have to be disabled in safe

Strange Random '1' Appears
Help would be grateful (2) Very strange this, it's happened twice to me now. It seems to happen when I use the includes
statement. Everything I do, I get a random '1' (without the quotes) appear on the page.

Weird Disk Quota Thing
(1) My site won't let me upload anything new. I was trying to upload a new flash thing I made, and
it kept saying that my disk quota was exceeded, so I deleted some files, to see if that would help.
That didn't work, so I deleted some more, and it still didn't work. Then, I was looking
around, and I found the /etc file, and it had three files, passwd, quota, and shadow, and they were
all 0kb. Then I decided to use the cpanel, instead of fireFTP, and I tried emptying the trash to
see if that would work, and I got this: CODE Unable to create trash folder. ....
Mirror Dimensions
This wierd thing about mirrors (9) This is wierd. Why is that when you point a mirror at a mirror, you see an infinite number of
mirrors that stretch on to who knows where? It almost looks as if you could climb into the mirror

Strange Site Problems
(2) This morning i ran out of credits, but I immediately got them back up to 7. All day I've been
trying my site, and it keeps timing out, and on the odd occasion comes up with a MySQL error. I was
just able to login to my cpanel, and my space usage was 550mb. Yesterday is was approximately 256mb,
and i didnt upload anything. I had to delete files to get it back down to 470, but I cant find what
has made it so big. Now I get a MySQL error on my forum. What do I do?....

I Am Very Much Addicted To Internet

now i only spend 10 hours a week on the net only. i think it is not addiction anymore relative to

(14) Well i was at a party recently, and felt strange... HHmm how to i type this without sounding
strange... Well yeah it was a party.... just to chill with friends, playing soccer and stuff like
that, and i started to get like.. dizzy... and everything was like... fuzzy.. whitish but enough for
me to see properly. and the noise was completely drained out, i could here it, but it was very
faint. and then my head. Its throbbing.. if i wasn't like i was.. it would have hurt, but it

Strange Thing Happened To My Computer
(26) I was on my computer a couple nights ago. Chatting with some friends and email what have you. And
all of a sudden, It froze. I was like, Oh great. So i shut down the computer using the button. And
then i flipped it on. Nothing happend, it sounded like it turned on but the power light that stays
