i just got my free web hosting (and it's cool, thanks). before i applied i had somewhere between 62 and 63 credits. then i applied: the first time i entered an invalid password, so i tried again and it all worked. then i logged back onto trap17.com, to find i had 1.91 days remaining. i then posted a few times and now i have around 4 credits. please tell me if this is normal. if it isn't, it would be much appreciated if you could restore my lost credits.
also after uploading files to my website (and changing index.html) i went to my site only to find it hadn't changed at all. i searched the cPanel documentation for a 'flush' command but there didn't appear to be one. i am still seeing the default site, and am wondering if this is because something is wrong, or because this is still stored in the server's cache or what.
Any advice/insight would be appreciated into each of these matters.

yes it is normal you lose all your credits except for 2 thats why the best thing to do is get the packaage you want with the min credits that you need then start boosting up your credits.

damn! i had 30 credits about 2-3 months ago! ah well you win some you lose some. thanks for that. any ideas about the second thing anybody? thanks heaps

delete index.html file in your WWW directory. Index.html enjoys a higher priority than index.htm. "htm" and "html" makes a big diffrence even though they both represent the same type of file. thanks.

you will upload your web pages to cpanel--->file manager-->public_html. then you will got your pages publishe on the site. Good Luck guangdian

yeah thanks heaps guys. i was changing the index.html in the root directory. problem easily solved by moving stuff into the public_html directory. thanks for all your support, one of the many things that make trap17.com great!

Transfer To Free Hosting? [resolved]
(9) I am in the negative points as we speak here just to state that. I have had a couple times when I
have went negative because of certain reasons but I have been way to busy lately to do anything but

Actually these aren't all of them but I'm saving the rest for other giveaways. So anyway on

Change To The Way Hosting Credits Work?

The Capitalization Filter
Problems with it (0) I've noticed that on a lot of topics, The topic's title has been maimed a little, like in
the case of "Guitar Hero Iii" or "Php And Mysql Question". The current world filter decapitalizes
all but the first letter of the word, which is capitalized. This is a problem, and although the
capitalization filter is good, I've proposed a few corrections: 1. For words that begin with a
capitalized letter, do not change the word. 2. Notwithstanding item 3, for the words, "the", "and",
"of", "in", and any other preposition or article that is 3 letters long or shorter, ....
Strange Site Problems
(2) This morning i ran out of credits, but I immediately got them back up to 7. All day I've been
trying my site, and it keeps timing out, and on the odd occasion comes up with a MySQL error. I was
just able to login to my cpanel, and my space usage was 550mb. Yesterday is was approximately 256mb,
and i didnt upload anything. I had to delete files to get it back down to 470, but I cant find what
has made it so big. Now I get a MySQL error on my forum. What do I do?....

(5) hey all, it was about one hour ago that my website stopped working, apart from my home page which
is 30 bytes and not even proper html (a temp page). around 15mins later, a200 noticed he had the
same problem. then, the cpanel stopped working, followed promptly by the ftp. when i try to access

Problems Adding An Email Account
(3) Hello, I am trying to add an email account, but I'm having problems. When I go into my Cpanel
and attempt to add an email account I get a message similar to "the account you are trying to
create, You have exceeded the maximum number of email accounts , with the password password
has been created successfully" And, of course, no email account is created. I know I am not
approaching any of my limits (Especially not on email accounts, since it's unlimited) so I'm

Problems With Ftp Access
(1) Well topic title says its all I have problem with ftp access to my account here on trap17 so if
anyone has experienced similar issues lately. The problem is when I try to log on it disconnects me
from the server. I am using filezilla however I have tried to access trough file manager and it
works fine though it is not the same protocol. I must admit I have deleted some folders recently
however I am quite certain that it is all connected to the joomla installation and not some system

Domain Change Problems
(2) Hey. Today I decided to change my default domain to a subdomain; I kinda needed a personal website
but I don't have the time to spend 5 hours waiting for the Uni.CC name servers to set up.
Anyway, I collected a couple more hosting credits to that I had enough to change it, and changed my

Unexpected Hosting Deletion - My Apologies
(0) Today, I have managed to screw some 10 hosting accounts. It was my mistake by running the script
while we're in the transition from Process v1.0 to Manage v2.0 Hosting Account System. For your
