I personally ditest trap17 because of it's clutter, it's impossibility to navigate, and the fact that admins like buffalohelp haven't been banned yet, as he abuses his power to the point of threatening free speech. Trap17 is way to orienated on its appeal, and not it's content, which is what's really important. If you make something flashy but pointless, all your doing is making idiots attracted to shiny things. This is my theory on why Buffalohelp remains on the forum. Also, if this post is deleted, this will just be proving that Trap17 cannot take constructive criticism, and that Buffalohelp is a power-hungry tyrant, bent on the destruction of free speech. A friend of mine, who had around 600 posts on this forum, said:

Judging by the number of your posts you were not hosted. Which means you are hiding behind another screen name to launch a personal attack on little old me. Otherwise, you are too cowardice to show your true identity fearing my retaliation.

If you are related to biscuitrat I am dissapointed that she has some association with you. I am shocked since I gave so much respect to her. Comparing free web hosting and paid web hosting is like comparing fruits and vegetables... it isn't right, it isn't fair. And to judge Trap17 services based on one person, like me, isn't allowing yourself to a wider view. I regret that your anger has narrowed your vision.
Free speech comes with its own responsibility. You can shot "fire!" but can you shout the same in a crowded theatre? Would you take the full responsibility of chaos and public safety just to exercise your freedom of speech? I think not.
Trap17 free web hosting, no ads is not the perfect and far less from the complete hosting solution. However, for those who need free web hosting with no ads Trap17 is a part of a solution. I, including Trap17, have never claimed this is THE place for web hosting. We simply thank each and every member for making Trap17 the internet's popular place for forum and web hosting. Free speech and all what you claim to be free may stand in the real world, but here is a reality check--this is an internet forum. You are a guest in Trap17 forum. Trap17 is not a government, not a corporate working place or your law institution. Do you normally go to your friend's house as a guest and start barking orders? If so perhaps you have a lot to learn about good mannerism.

If you think that trap is so cluttered maybe you can be a really good member, be a mod then be an admin and make this place the best in the world... There is a difference between free speech and abuse... Nobody has ever stopped you from saying what you want but if you spam on the forum then you define your free speech as rubbish and gibberish that is either copy/pasted or not worth listening to. Good members have always been respected here and treated right.

Wow you must have broken some great set of rules to be angry at buff like this What do you mean CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM????? All that I can read is Buffy this and Buffy that... Was this actually your friend or your own comment?? And if it was your friend I don't see him supporting you in your noble cause. Is your friend complaining because he is really concerned about Trap17 or is it because Buff is a great admin and has enforced good rules in the forum.

Biscuitrat's opinion has no connection with our forums actually... You were talking about us getting our acts together not as a hosting company but as a forum right? Trap is a free hosting Company so OBVIOUSLY we are gonna lack in a .99% with other companies . But being an employee of Xisto Network I say nothing and I mean NOTHING can beat Computinghost's Web Hosting Services. How many forums of this kind have survived for so long??? I'm not surprised many good members left, he has been here with Trap17 for more than two years. The thing is, I don't really think that they left because of him. In fact a lot of people have left since I joined the forums as well. Now let's see, I have seen many posts of people leaving but it's usually because they are too busy now or they moved up to paid hosting like Computing Host, but I can't recall a post about how Buffalo is a tyrant.
I think it's hilarious how you point out dumb pictures probably edited in Photoshop but no pointing to a particular topic or post that proves any of your theorems. Buffalo enforces the rules because they are rules and that's why they are there. There isn't anything tyrant about what he does.

I dunno, maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like you guys may have been over zealous with some of the responses.
Anyone who thinks trap17 is bad should go get hosted by atspace. Man I am convinced they have some kind of cron job or something running that keeps booting the server. I signed up with SiteUptime for kicks and giggles only to be shocked at how often the site went down. Really really bad, but on the other hand maybe they have this set up on purpose to help move people over to their paid hosting. Just not very good business practice if you ask me. Not allowing certain keywords so you can't get a paypal button to work? Just stupid, and so I came to trap17. Much much better and loads of perks like PHP etc. Asking for regular posting is a good idea and I can see this evolving into a quality article writing business. Hmmmm could a member run such a business using the trap17 free hosting? I think so but sooner or later either a partnership or your own server would be required to be able to provide the free hosting model to others in return for the article writing.

Hmmm, well i would have to say a couple things about this. I love this post, not because its true, but because i just had to laugh at it. Why the HECK would you come to a forum you "ditest". Doesn't make sense to me. Can somebody help me out with that? I don't know about you, but where i live lol, we just ignore things, and or people we don't like, or in your case "ditest" So why not just leave? I don't get it. My views on your post is, it was pointless, Ive been here for about a week, the forums are friendly, the moderators (from what i have read) are understanding and firm, which wouldn't be my approach i would be 0 tolerance (thats just me and my hard life ), it seams to be there doing a good job, there cpanel has a fresh style that I've never seen before, the member are all kind and helpful as much as they can be, and if you're paying for hosting than thats you're problem, this host been amazing AND free surprised me one hell of alot!

I have a few questions for allfanged1. Why did you include a traffic sign from the Atomsmasher traffic sign generator? It doesn't really seem to add much to your argument. How can you possibly compare Buffalohelp to Joseph Stalin? Buffalohelp is a Trap17 Administrator, who didn't seem to create a police state during the two days I have been here. Also, does Buffalohelp's username really have anything to do with him being helpful around the forum (although I haven't read any posts where he gave someone bad information)? I really don't see why allfanged1 even made this topic. None of his points were valid, and Trap17 seems to be a nice site.

The author and his pals still believe that the topic was pinned because it was important. It was actually pinned because OpaQue thought it was plain stupid and he realized the reason behind the topic
When has either OpaQue or BuffaloHost EVER EVER been mean or cruel to us? The answer is never. They've constantly provided a fair and just administration of this forum that's very enviable. People on other forums are jerks. I've never encountered that here, and with as enormous and diverse a group as Trap17 caters to, that's simply remarkable.
You ought to be ashamed if you're putting these guys down. This is their job and they're doing it well.
As for my post, I apologize. I didn't mean it to be taken in the way that it was and I'm appalled that you would quote me to bash two admins whom I have the highest regard for. My complaint was due to one large period of downtime in May when I was under a lot of stress wondering whether or not my site would ever come back. Did I make a complaint of that nature before that? Never. That post wasn't written with much tact, nor much real information about my time here at Trap17, but I assure you that my time, before the downtime hit, was remarkable. I don't think I would have made it through that stretch with any sanity left without the assistance of both OpaQue and Buffalo who have constantly been wonderful. Slow support was a result of a database failure and I know that the admins were working their hardest to repair it -- questions would have to be answered later in order for the problem itself to be fixed. Did I say it was poor support? Of course not. I've been assisted numerous times by those two and when OpaQue couldn't answer, I knew Buffalo could. That's why I stayed so long -- I knew I was in good hands.
So seriously, naysayers, think about how much time and effort your admins put into your wonderful experience here. I have NEVER seen free-hosting this good anywhere else and I doubt you guys have either.
Trap17 is more navigatable and has a cooler cPanel than computinghost... This may be opinion, but
the HTML editor on computinghost is long gone. The cPanel is the newer version but as always newer
isn't always better. So what if they have a new cpanel (ensim did the same thing)…the fact is
they left old software on for years when much newer and more secure versions are ready. Hell, php6
is about to come out. So in two years plesk, cpanel and ensim will finally go to php6 when php 8 is
available. Just the inablilty to apply security patches alone is enough to nev....

As I said, I had to move my web site away from Trap17 temporarily because I had ran out of disk
space. Now, when my upgrade is finalised, I would like to ask for a little assistance. The provider
I will be moving my site from, back to Trap17 also uses Cpanel, and the admin let me know to do a
backup and that backup could be simply transferred via FTP to my new provider. The backup includes
all my files and MySQL data, in other words, the whole web site. It is in a .tar.gz format. How do I
get all this across? Do I 'unzip' the file and then transfer them bit by bi....
