Sony Announces New Ps2

If you guys havent heard or if you have. Sony has a new PS2 out. Not PS3 or anything. This version of the PS2 is very small that its 75% smaller then the first one and it includes a preinstalled network adapter. Its pretty cool as I saw one today at Best Buy.

i think its just a big waste of time to buy because ps3 will be here within 2 years and my ps2 is like 5 yrs old and still ownin so yah.. and it looks like a waste of cash

yeah it was the samething they did with ps1 over time then made it smaller and more compact. I will just wait til the price gets real low even though it is a waste of money.

Actually from what someone told me over MSN (Most like Trystim) that it will start at the same price as our current PS2s, (like they did with GBA -> GBA SP?) and the old PS2s will have a large price cut. (When I plan on buying ^^)

When I moved out my parent's house I had to buy a ps2. Thats when I found out about it. I reserved it and got it about 3 weeks ago now. Its almost exactly the same. The port for the hardrive is missing (not sure how it hooks in) it has the modem built in, and theres an infared port on the bottom right (remote maybe?) Its quieter, it opens like the ps1. 0.o

It doesnt support the HD, so you wont be able to play FFXI and such

Looks like a waste of money to me, exept if you want to install it on a car.

X.x thats rather upsetting. Does that mean they have no intention of making other games with the HD feature? damn I was hoping to not have to buy any more memory cards =x. DO you think perhaps they will release a usb HD for this one?

Why doesn't it support a HD? I would think that it would seeing as how FFXI is pretty much a top seller and FFXII is coming out soon.

Yea... I think it looks cool. But for people that just payed $100 on the new HDD, Well why would you wast your money on a thing like that. You old ps2 is fine. Infact i belive its better. The new ps2 has no fan i mean it must over heat ya know. But the HDD reason is really why i wont go out and buy it.

A pocket ps2? Who is dumb enough to buy it? Perhaps sony have run out of ideas - They duplicate one model and sell it for a higher price. Would some of you ever want to buy a new ps2 just because its smaller and dump the old one? Maybe this is a way to attract new customers to the gaming world - Afterall sony wants to dominate the title as the best console developer.

Nintendo on the other hand have several different models of gameboys - but not on consoles. In my opinion consoles are not supposed to be transfered from place to place - they are supposed to be stationary.

Personally I dont play games because of the graphics. If tetris had ultra power graphics - the stones were like real Oh my god ! Would you think it would be the most hilarious game ever? These days the actuall gaming criteria have changed - fun vs graphics ? What aspect do you think wins ? The fun in the games are often ignored by the producers when they have to focus to make the graphics as good as possible.

Think about Mario - Isnt that the best game ever? Well . . i assume none of you have ever completed it after falling down at the first jump

Hey i dont think this PS2 mini is gonna be successful and i dont think it is true that it would be launched.. We have by now all seen the PS3 demo and all know that it would be released soon.. I am waiting for PS3 since it is 9 times powerfull than XboX 360
