Show your desktops here to give others inspiration how to set there desktop. Since I guess also modemers (=<56k users) visit his forum I ask you all to make a small image, lets say 640x480 that you show here You always can set a link to the original big one if you wish  A good place to upload your images is imageshack, its free and the maximum is 1mb a file. Oke I will start.  full size one- Gentoo Linux with kernel 2.6.8, - Xorg 6.8.1 - Fluxbox windowmanager What we see? Right side: Gkrellm2 a system monitor program for linux Top left: Aterm that runs top to view the running progresses in the system Center top: Firefoxbar Wallpaper can be found hereWho is next ?

 Two 17" monitors running at 2560x1024. I don't really like the whole "fancy smanshy" stuff for windows, I prefer the attitude more along the lines of "If it works well, use it." -gm

here's mine: Laptop rez 1024x768 one of StyleXP's themes...don't remember which fractal C++ wallpaper WinXP Pro I HATE MESSY DESKTOPS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Already having 4 icons onscreen is too much.

here's mine I have 3 OS's. 2XP's one a proper one another to test programs and the other OS is Red Hat 9. I use the original bluecurve theme of Red Hat and I configured alphabending and shasows and transparency, The Normail OneThe one for testingThe Red Hat (best)

PNG = Portable Network Graphics, which is usually used by Linux users because it's as vivid as BMP but much smaller. PNG is also supported by Windows and Macintosh. xboxrulz

An Icon Issue

Project Looking Glass
3D Desktop Environment (6) Anybody heard of Project Looking Glass? It is a 3D Desktop environment from Sun Microsystems. It is
amazing. I have tried out a few 3D environments in the past and wasn't impressed but this looks
promising. It is an open-source project :) that will be available for Linux and Solaris systems.
It will obviously built with Java technology. There isn't much information about the project but
here is a link to the projects site. There are some screenshots and a video that is quite
