Im in need of some help here guys! Im running a very mediocre system at the moment which runs games like CoD2 and CS:S fine. But im in need of a completly new system. Is there any advice of where to shop on the internet for barebone systems (bare in mind im a student and on a student budget).
I hate to say it, but I would reccommend E-Bay. There is some very good deals going around there. (I saw a couple I-Macs going for a 1.75 in Buy-It-Now!). If not, you should actually build your own system. It often cuts off a lot of the price and you can create a 10x faster machine than what you can buy off the shelf.
Tigerdirect.com has really great barebone systems for a really reasonable price. They can even come with motherboard + processor, RAM, sometimes a hard drive, and even dvd drives. Sometimes all you need is a monitor. And all there stuff is really cheap. I would check them out if i was you. I have bought some stuff from then before. Very good place.
i dont think ebay for "barebones" isnt reliable. those people could have bought a barebone, and swapped in a worse motherboard or something, and then sold it for less.

JC05, the definition of a barebone system is one that has the parts needed to "start up." That would include motherboard, processor, ram, and harddrive. they usually chip in a cd/dvd drive too.
Do you honestly think that the PS3 should have been worth the starting price? I don't think so,
because all it really had was graphics. I think that Sony ruined themselves with it mainly because
of that, and I don't think that they will be able to recover from it. I mean how many times have
you walked into a store and have saw a PS3 on the shelf somewhere. Also, do you think that they
would do this with the next console the come out with?....

Hey everyone! I am helping someone make a login system using MySQL databases and a PHP login
form. I have a fair bit of experiance in HTML and some javascript too. I have virtually no

Other than my aborted attempt at setting up a site on my previous free web host, this will be the

Hey Does anyone use Mac G5 here? I have a Mac G5 with leopard installed. Ive recently installed
Virtual Pc 7 i followed the instructions. And it told me to insert a disc and then choose the disc
type and click capture disc if it isnt already captured automatically. However it wont work for me
because the option to press capture disc is greyed out. If it doesnt let me click on it then how am
i suppose to load it. And it says any windows is compatible. but if i had service pack 2 would it

so i came home from school and my brother told me that my mom's laptop doesn't detect the
dvd/cd rom drive (the drive icon doesn't show up in My Computer). he told me that the drive
doesn't even open up (meaning he can't put any cd there). i thought he was just joking so i
just shrugged it off. that was until i checked the laptop myself. he was right. the drive is not
detected and the icon doesn't show up in the My Computer window. when i checked the drive, the

I have a 5.1 Sound System. It works great in 2 channels but when I switch to 5.1 the subwoofer
ain't working. My motherboard has a nvidia 4 ultra chipset so it supports 5.1 configuration.
Also in nvidia mixer when I use sound test everything is great and I can hear the subwooofer working
as is should. But when I want to watch a movie or listen to music the subwoofer is as good as dead.

I found out that AVG Free version isn't eliminating even trojan viruses. I only have this free
version from protecting my system. Is it okay to install one more anti-virus software on top of this
AVG Free version which is already installed and updated to the latest version? I have the option of
installing Norton Anti-virus 2005. Will it cause any problem since the two softwares may use the
