QUOTE(Inspiron @ Jun 21 2005, 12:01 PM) Hey, from what I think, Linux distributions are slowly becomes OS that you will need to pay. Look at those Linux Destros with strong support like, Mandriva (formerly known as Madrake Linux), Redhat, Linspire, all becoming paid Linux OS. Of course many distributions are still free and usually have problems and can crash easily or no support on them... But still, Linux is less vulnerable to sercurity threats unlike Windows OS... They are not becaming paid, because they are working on GPL license!!!! The point of this license is that all software developed under this license is free and the same is for linux and all programs for this OS, except some drivers like for ATI, Nvidia,... You make conclusions to fast, I think that I know why have you wrote this and it's tru that on the offical webpage of Mandrake linux you can't download the latest stable version of Mandriva linux if you're not a member and paying for this. This is because they need money to keep working on linux, but you can still download Mandriva linux from other websites or if you wanna try the newest version in development with some bugs. And there is one thing that microsoft will never accept. If you're working with open source, there are more people working on same code and many bugs can be fixed in short time so Linux is less vulnerable then windows on which is working just one team and there are more possibilities for bugs in their new OS and with this there are more chances for hackers to use this security holes for hacking.

it off using the power button. There seems to be no link between the freezing, except it always

noticed is that when it's frozen, the "loading light" on the front of my pc is always on, not
flickering, but fully on. So i'm guessing my PC's doing too much work and freezes.

Asp.net Hosting On Linux Servers?
(1) Hi, I was searching the free ASP.NET hosting, but I didn't found any really good hosts. However,
I found lots of good free hosting sites(like trap17) without ASP.NET support. Now I'm wondering,
why there is only few free ASP.NET hosts with such poor plans? You may say, that ASP.NET requires
Windows OS, but it isn't true, there is such tool named mono, which allows run NET technologies
on linux OS and it is free(as far as I know). Then why hosts doesn't interested in ASP.NET? A

Agent-principal Relationships

ability to act on behalf of the principal. This is known as a form of principal-agent relationship
called power of attorney. Such a relationship plays an important role in business, whether it be in

principal-agent relationship: express, implied, and apparent authority. Express authority is what

Plants And Water Loss
some info on growing plants in dry conditions (0) Transpiration is a plant’s loss of water, usually through the stomates of leaves. Plants have guard
cells to regulate the water loss. These guard cells open and close the stomates in response to
various environmental conditions; darkness, lack of water within the plant, and extreme temperatures
cause the guard cells to close the stomates while light, plentiful water, and favorable temperatures
cause them to open the stomates. Some stomates must be open even in unfavorable conditions so that
the plant can take in carbon dioxide. Dryland farming is the growing of crops....
Enzymes And Health
Some interesting info on enzymes (0) Enzymes act as catalysts in living organisms which allow important chemical reactions to occur at
lower temperatures. They are not altered in the process and can be used in many reactions. Most of
the chemical reactions that occur in living organisms are regulated by enzymes and would happen much
slower without them. For example, without the digestive enzyme carboxypepdidase, it would take
seven years to digest a hamburger. Ethyl carbamate is a compound found in fermented beverages that
can cause cancer in various organisms. Its precursor is urea, an intermediate du....

you want... but besides that it's really nice and you can do a lot of other thing....

If Mac Osx Is Best With Hardware, Where Does Linux Lie?
(5) Here's a good question: Is Linux better at utilizing hardware efficiently to produce optimal
performance out of your components. I hear a lot about Mac OSX being so much better with Intel
processors and yada yada, but I don't know if this is true or if a bunch of Mac elitists said a
bunch of crap and ran with it. I don't think there are actual comparable benchmarks, but if
there are, where does Linux lie in the hardware efficiency race? (Or is it dependent on which Linux
distribution it is, like how XP still beats Vista in performance?)....
What Made You Switch To Linux?
(39) I first tried Linux a few years ago, not because I was completely against Windows or anything like
that, but just because I had some free time on my hands. I started off with Mandrake 9.0 which was
very user friendly and Windows-like. After reading through a bunch of message boards and learning
which distros are good for what, I soon realized my current distro was great for Linux noobs. So
then I decided to try something a little more advanced like Slackware which I knew had a steep
learning curve. Since then I've been using Slackware as my main OS and couldn't ....
Call Of Duty 4
This is my info about Cod4 (8) My Cod4 Review I picked up COD4 kinda hoping for something not like COD and COD2. Both
previous encounters with the COD franchise were very enjoyable indeed, but the element of a cohesive
storyline was missing. You were bounced between Russian, English, and American campaigns trying to
follow each smaller storyline to the end. Boy was I pleasantly surprised with COD4. Blown away is
more like it. The plot of the game was very well done. The 2 story lines seemed to be going in 2
different directions at first, but later on you can see the 2 slowly merging in t....
Ubuntu Linux As Free Operating System Alternative
linux operating system (47) About three years ago I decided to learn how to use Linux and after a lot of posts on a forum I
tried Ubuntu Linux as it was recommended as a good first Linux distro. Ubuntu is not the easiest
Linux distro to use but with its unmatched forum community support it is one of the easiest to learn
to use. One of the problems with learning Linux is that a lot of users have an attitude that Linux
should be a free Windows knock off which it is not. Ubuntu is build on a Linix core or kernel and is
a different Open Source and free as in to use operating system. This brings us to t....

How Do I Switch From Gnome To Kde?
Ubuntu Linux (6) Hey. I use Windows mainly, as I use games and graphical programs the most. However, I use Linux a
bit, just for programming and other things like that. I'm not that good at programming and
linux though ;_;... Well, I decided that the main reason I don't like to use it is that it
looks so alien, and I hate how GNOME looks. I hear that if I move to KDE I'll be sacrificing
some performance or whatnot. I have this really crazy linux zealot friend who preaches the linux
gospel to me, and will attempt to beat down any reason why I like Windows. I would ask ....
