| | At some of our schools in Holland, you can take extra lessons in languages! You can also learn Chinese now, and it's kinda hard if you only speak dutch. It's also harder for people who are older, to learn a new language than for children. |

My native languaje is Spanish, I learned English (if it's too bad, fell free to let me know And by the way, I'm looking forward to learn German. I hope to travel to Europe onday, soon
How come there' no 'french' in the poll. It's a second language for most English students (at school).
For me, English is my second language...but I have been in England for 5 years now...so it doesn't feel so much like it's a second language...and I wouldn't wanna go to any more English classes...If I were to learn more, I would do french. I have done a bit of it..But I guess French might not be as useful as spanish or even chinese these days..I don't mind chinese...it's becoming more popular and useful ...but...the characters are so hard.
I do want to learn some german (just sounds so cool)
but where is french on the list? Je parle un peu de francais, mais je veux plus apprendre. I also want to learn some latin, because unlike most of the other languages it has a more direct application to English and everyday life. (not that learning french hasn't helped my english.)
I'm English and I currently learn German at school at GCSE level. I also used to do French until 2 years ago, but it was too difficult learning French and German at GCSE, and doing English GCSEs. Too many different languages, word orders, spellings and all that. Sometimes even the teachers get confused
I've always thought it would be quite cool to learn Russian, but I don't know why. Maybe after my GCSEs I'll start learning Russian!
Wow, I wish I could brush up on my Russian. My parents came to America from Belarus (a slavic country in eastern europe) and they've raised me to speak Russian, but my grammar is terrible! However, I do know more Russian swearwords than I should.....svolach. If you speak Russian you'll know what this means. Hehe.
id lke to learn spanish most of all cuz most of the people that dont speak english here speak spanish....but i wish i can learn everything else on the poll =)
mmm... if I had to choose, English, I suppose. But I already know it so donīt know. Apart from English, I like German and thatīs why Iīm learning it. Itīs difficult because of the genres and other things. Itīs much more complex than English and they tend to mix a lot of words just to make one bigger and incredibly hard to pronounce. Too much for my throat, but it sounds very strong and I like it.
I donīt like languages which derivate from latin too much. Maybe itīs because my native language is spanish and it isnīt a big challenge to deal with Italian or Portuguese which are very simmilar. And we have catalan and gallego here that have few differences with spanish. And I donīt like how French sounds, just too sweet. But I definitely would like to learn Chinese. I find it very interesting because itīs a completely different culture, so I think itīs exciting. And in a more practical sense, the future is opened to people who knows Chinese... three days ago it reached the fourth position in the ranking of worldīs most powerful countries. Theyīre above to rule the world
Warning to all of you people DON'T TAKE CHINESE IT IS HARD AS HELL(I'm Chinese I have to take classes on Sunday it is harded then holy hell)writing is a pain and the pronouing the words are hard too..
I've been learning chinese when I was young, so I guess for me, it isn't so hard at all. Once you've get the hang of it, it really is quite fun. I myself know how to speak a few languages (or some may be classified as a dialect).
I can speak English of course, Mandarin, Cantonese, Malay, Hokkien, and a decent ammount of Hakka. But if I were to choose from the poll listed above, I think I would have to say Spanish. No particular reason, I just think that is sounds cool, Latest Entries
I'm French and I'm studying English but also spanish. I don't really like german so I wouldn't go for it... But chinese is more and more studied in France. I love listening to a friend who has been learning chinese for a long time. It's kind of funny to listen to chinese but it's also enchanting. I know that sounds dumb but it's such "weird" sounds that it becomes enchanting... Give it a try
i want to learn chinese and japanese too.. though its really hard to write them especially the kanji characters injapanese which are the writngs of chinese. but which is easier to learn traditional chinese or simplified chinese?
Ni hao!
hey i wanna learn to speak chinese and learn more about its culture and they the history.. i mean china is like well cool and the people.. i like have alot of friends who are chinese and they are really cool and have been brought up really well and they always say that it is because of where they are from.. i love chinese food aswell that is like the best manzz esp special fried rice
QUOTE(Nani Cheri @ Feb 1 2006, 01:51 PM) Hahaha, hmmm well maybe I heard too many harshness for my own as I speak Dutch... I'd rather choose Spanish or Arabic (but that's only because I want to understand some of my friends Learning an arabic language seems a nice idea too. Or Indian. Anyway, I plan to travel a lot, to countries with radically different culture than mine and would want to communicate with the people and learn about their vision. From this point of view Indian (as the language spoken in India - is that correct?) would be my choice. But I think I will stick to German QUOTE(cmatcmextra @ Jan 30 2006, 09:21 PM) I'm finding very hard, "tengo unos anos"* is about all I can say * Means I'm one-year old Only an advice. Probably you know how to pronounce that, but writing it should be "Tengo un aņo". I know that you probably donīt have that Ņ letter in your keyboard but itīs funny because youīve chosen a problematic word, because "ano" means "butt", so if you write "tengo unos anos" you mean exactly "Iīve got some butts". Also is without "s" because its singular (one), but for the rest of ages itīs said "aņos" with final "s".
