For my school, I downloaded into my documents and not the C drive because the my documents folder follows your account located on a diferent server. As for a way to get around a firewall try a proxy. These can be found here: http://www.proxy4free.com/page1.html After you obtain a proxy that you want to use, simply to Internet Explorer and click tools -> connections -> LAN Settings and check the box that says "Use a proxy server for your LAN. Then click advance and paste in the proxy address and port number for all five options and click OK. Now you will be able to get around the filter that the school has.
