I don't know...They have added filter in the router.Here in macedonia on schools computers we don't have internet this year Few years ago we had internet and it was pretty fast because we have 20 computers.In our computers some kids are adding viruses and uninstalling anti-viruses.That is the hardest thing...The computer i use is infected with virus,so after logging in the keyboard stops working.You can simple write username or password but after logging it just beeps.It is not hardware...

We have blocking software, the two biggest blocks they have, which really bother me is about.com (the name suggests educational) and yahoo.com (I don't understand this one) but I've found that if you just want to read the content of a page, for reasearch or whatever you can use the google cach to view a recent copy of that page.
Heh my school has blocked google images. Stupid losers looking up porn at school ruined it for everyone. x_x
my school has a blocking system too! and i think it sucks, because it blocks yahoo search in general...but it allows google i think that sucks! but it is necissary for the protection of the teachers jobs..because it isn't the kid that gets in trouble it is the teacher >_< one teacher at our school got fired because a kid looked at gay porn..pshh i still say it was the teacher really though

At my school we have a filtering system because they say that people spend too much time accessing non-educational sites. They also block any site that is deemed inappropriate by someone sat in an office somewhere. So, when it came to my ICT coursework, creating a website on smoking, when searching for "smoking" we got every single site blocked.
A little bit of now-not-so-common sense would go a long way to getting these filtering systems working properly.
my scool blocke nearly everything, but we cna get round a fair bit of it by searching on google and going to a random page lol stupid i know!!!

My old school didn't have internet access for the kids, but for the office, they had what they claim is strict filtering. I don't know the details, but it probably wasn't some enterprise solution. I bet it was something like a Norton internet suite, with whatever content filtering it has turned on. My current school also doesn't either provide us with Net access, but I would appreciate it.

My school had myspace, facebook, and other networking sites filtered. I've tried anonymous surfing those sites that goes through proxies or whatever. i understand that the school computers are for education purposes so I don't really bother. To be suspended for logging on to myspace? not worth it. hehe
do schools really think this is helping, they have blocked the wrong sites but now even the right sites are being blocked, I think the government has gone to far and should think more carefully about how this is effecting our education, all they are doing is making us hate them more, if they really want our attention then they should be a little more carefully about there decisions -reply by Its My choice not yours
I really hate my schools blocking system! It really annoys me becuase they block everything even those site that aren't atleast that bad...
I think that if kids arent aloud to check their email then teachers shouldnt be aloud to either. Thats not fair to us kids. So I think that kids should have the same freedoms as teachers do just cause there older doesnt mean there the boss of us. I believe that kids only truly have two bosses and thats their mom and dad so there for u really don't have to listen to your teachers lol
