Well, I come from New Zealand. Every single person born in New Zealand has played rugby wink.gif

Of course, it's our national sport.

I used to play rugby. I live in a small town but we have at least 10 teams. I played for my area of town, and we were pretty good. I was a wing, but our team had the fastest players around. I had to stop playing because I broke my leg. One player tackled my and held me upright next to the try line(i was a wing), so another player tried to get my over the touch line in a tackle, so my foot remained planted while my body was forced away. Then crack. And in rugby, they run as fast and as hard as they can. So that forced me to give it up.

I watch rugby all the time. Always watch the All Blacks(our test team). Rugby is always on New Zealand TV anyway. In fact we are so big on rugby, six months after losing the word cup, the rugby union publicly apologized for losing it.

Rugby is a fairly big sport which does get big crowds in the traditional strongholds of the UK nations (England, Wales, etc) and New Zealand, and a fair bit of international following, although not as popular as soccer. Have to say, aint a fan of how some of the teams play with the constant penalty kicking and so forth (England).

Rugby is a big part of the sport here in Wales, it's our unofficial sport smile.gif
I play rugby and enjoy it, usually on the wing. I also like to watch it, and with the South Africa tour coming up soon, it is a pretty exciting time.

Just finished (re)seeing the Scotland Portugal match (just getting ready for the match tomorrow)and
I have to admit, watching the Portuguese team sing the national anthem actually got me a bit misty
eyed. I can't remember the last time a portuguese side showed so much pride and self-respect at
being in an international tournament. Great fair play shown by the Scots too. What a contrast with
the portuguese national football team , half of the players probably don't know the words and
the other half just mumbles them. And no sense of heart on the pitch, it's l....

    My Picks (11)
MY PICKS FOR THE RUGBY WORLD CUP - 2007 MY PICK TO WIN: Like many people around the
world, I believe that New Zealand are the strongest rugby nation. Although they had a surprise lost
to the Wallabies, I still believe they are going to take the cake (Win the cup). I also believe
South Africa have a very strong line-up, and they may cause a problem for the All Blacks. SURPRISE
PICK: I believe that Australia may be able to stun the world and win the cup. Although they have

I'd to like if theres anyone in England, NZ, or Australia here that follow the Rugby League. I
mainly watch the NRL (National Rugby League), and have been following the Manly Seaeagles since the
early 90s. It's finals time down here, and since my team has been knocked out. I've still
been watching the other teams. The Brisbane Broncos was the first through to the GF by defeating
Cantebury-Bankstown Bulldogs. The Broncos will be going to play the winner out of St

Top Welsh Referee Nigel Whitehouse has called for Soccer to adopt some of rugbys own refereeing

football there is so much abuse of referees by the players. Referees are under immense pressure as
it is, but the way players surround and intimidate them is ridiculous." He later said that he
"would be in favour of some sort of sin-binning being introduced, whether it was for five or 10
minutes" and also that he belives "If a player knew he was going to be sin-binned for certain off....

Hi Any rugby fans here? Wow! What a game! A nail bitter til the end. I thought my beloved
french team was done at the half down 17-6. But no thanks to french kicker Dimitri Yachvili who
scored all 18 points and only missed two far away 50 yarders or so. England scored the only 2 trys
of the game but their kickers just couldn't convert much points. Not even an easy drop in the
final minute which would have given England a 2 points win. I don't think the best team won
today (France), I think the less worse did. England just isn't what it used to be whe....
