Yes, I have to agree that firefox is the browser to go with if you want to have control over what you are doing. Thanks for that very useful information nilsmo! I appreciate it, it has increased my browsing speeds quite a bit!

WTF - Mozilla lacks plug ins. Use IE with a up-to-date firewall. From a programers prospective Mozilla sucks big time.

Howevere I do have it running on my PC to test compatibility

Wrong, from a programmers perspective Mozilla is a hell of alot better. Name a plugin that doesn't exist for Firefox and does exist for IE.

Well, if you're looking for Firefox plug-ins, select 'Tools', then click 'Extensions'. There should be a link that will allow you to download some plug-ins for Firefox on the extensions manager.

Oh, and if that didn't help at all, try this page: http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/central.html

Edit: Or, if you don't want to go through the trouble of looking for your extension manager, here's the link to the add-on page: https://addons.update.mozilla.org/extensions/

There is a little think you can do where you can speed it up. Its pretty easy and quick too. There are threads here explaining it so go and find it. The tabbed browser alone sets firefox worlds apart from Internet Explorer. I have both on my computer and my sister uses IE (probably because she is dumb) but I saw the computer one day and the windows start bar was do freaking cluttered with everything it was horrible!

Firefox is okay, but Safari is the best biggrin.gif (of course it doesn't exist for windows and Linux can get close with Konqueror).

MacIE completely sucks as Microsoft has decided not to updated it. It can't even handle .pngs correctly.

firefox is awesome.
do you have v.1 ?
i tried the previous versions and i thought they sucked, but the new one is a lot better biggrin.gif

and firefox allows ActiveX, you have to turn it on in the options menu.

To speed up mozilla:
Type "about:config" in your FireFox address bar. The
settings you're looking for are:

1.) network.http.pipelining
2.) network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
3.) network.http.proxy.pipelining

Set #1 and #3 to "true". Set #2 to a high number, like 32.

PS: If you have a dial-up connection, Firefox is questionable.

i already posted this in the software forum in firefox topic -.-
