| | hey, im having a problem with this proxy thing, when i try to join a chatroom it keeps saying "Open Proxy". what does it mean? how can i change it so im able to go into chatrooms?
im using internet explorer and windows vista. |

OK I don't use windows vista but here is explanation what should you do basically. You start you internet explorer and found out panel called internet options in the latest version available for Windows XP it is placed in the far end of the menu bar it is called tools. Click there and check the last option then find the tab named and internet options window will open. Now check the tab named connections and it depends if you have dial up or just adsl it is the same for adsl cable internet and wireless. You check either settings or lan settings and then uncheck the Use a proxy server. This thing you are having or problem might occur because you are not recieving cookies from the chat room or chat room site administrators have baned proxies as they can be way of abuse. By entering several times as different user.

If you are using a proxy to go to the chatroom, chances are that you are being caught by the proxy filter. It could also be a false positive if you are not. If so, PM an admin

Issues Uploading A File [resolved]
(3) Hi there. I have been trying to upload a zip file only about 2mb to my account through CPanel.
First I tried uploading it to a new folder in public_ftp. Then i tried to put it in the main part
of public_ftp. I also tried the same thing in public_html. It shows the file being uploaded, and i
get 100 %, but alas, when i look in the folders nothing is there. Is there a restriction on .zip
files? I have had no problems as of yet uploading htm and html pages. Please let me know ASAP.

Issues With Router Freezing
(3) I am curious as to if anyone else here experiences random freezing with their routers. It seems to
happen to me most when using my D-Link, and I end up having to unplug it and replug it back in every
hour or so. The same thing happens at my neighbor's house and we have the same type of router. I
don't know the model number off the top of my head but I can go check if it is needed. As for
the issue, I do use wifi internet, and so I was assuming maybe that could be the issue? I'm not
sure if maybe the internet being disconnected and reconnected extremely fast ....

I'm having trouble running Runescape through a proxy server (2) I use GhostGo when I surf the web most of the time because it helps protect my privacy. One

Ubuntu 7.10 Boot Issues
why does this happen? (5) hey trapsters, a few months ago, i reinstalled my laptop because i noticed it was getting
considerably laggy. i first installed xp, however i didn't have the time to install ubuntu as
well (dual boot) until around about a week ago. for some reason, however, my ubuntu 7.10 takes an
awfully long time to boot. firstly, after the splash (ubuntu logo and loading bar), the common unix
printing system (cupsd) takes about 30secs - 1min to load. then, once typing in my username and

Two Lan Ports Problem
cant connect to counter-strike server (2) here....i think i know the problem...but i cant find the solution.... I use windows XP SP 2 ...Asus
motherboard.. I use integrated Ethernet port (NVIDIA nforce controller) to connect to the hostel LAN
and used the same connection to get internet (using proxy). I played counter-strike without any
problem... Everything worked fine until i took a direct ADSL internet connection... So i installed
a separate ethernet card (INTEX rtl8139D) which i use to connect to the internet... So now i have

I was having issues trying to call an image from a folder. (1) Alright so this is for example You'd have a site and the structure is like this.

Unable To Connect Remotely To My Server
(9) Well ok. let me try to draw this out in paint.. this is how our routers are set up.. I beleive
that is how it goes.. Ok.. I am trying to run both an XAMPP server, and a Ventrilo server. I
connect to it fine with 127.0.0.1 (vent server and xampp) but nobody else can connect with my IP
address, not even remotely to my router (router control panel with password and IP and port) How do

My script dosent seem to work as intended (1) You can test it out for yourself at http://sonesay.trap17.com/application.php I've been
working on this page locally and it seems to be working fine but when I upload it to my trap17
account the post variables dont get saved properly. Fill in some fields and submit it, the form
will come up as a empty field yet when you resubmit it without any modifications and the data you
entered in orginally will now magically appear, resubmit it again and it will be gone. This is
really annoying as I have no clue why it would be doing this when it seems to work fine locally.....

Internet Does Not Connect
(4) Kind of a weird problem I had since two weeks ago. Ironically, for how much I thought i was
addicited to the net, i can live without it, on and off, while using the university's pcs for my

connect to a remote oracle database using toad? When I read the docs for toad I get the impression
that I have to have a local oracle installation in order to use toad, but that just seems silly. I
