a cpu IS a processor.

Macs don't have cpus = LOL !

Every computer has a CPU = Central Processing Unit.

Most of the comments on this thread are NOT correct.

The use of one or two processors being used is controlled TOTALLY by the hardware . . . The programs do NOT know how many processors they are running on.

64-bit or 32-bit IS only controlled by the SOFTware program . . . Depending on what platform is was compile under ... So, older programs will run the same speed on 64-bit or 32-bit platforms, but will run faster on Dual-Core.
