this is pretty simplewhy i post huh?it's because i like some of the topics and i like to talk with other peopleand mostly cuz i want hosting for my site
since trap17 is a favourite site for all of us who are posting here, i was wondering what are the main reasons behind that keeps us motivated and go on posting at trap17.so lets find out by casting a poll here !
I started out just posting for AfterDawn many years ago. It was for me to share ideas and finding for the aforementioned forum theme. I wanted to place all my acquired knowledge into one single place, so that I can revisit if I forget or to help out other members who are having a tough time. It was purely for intellectual stimulation.
But that forum just got too complex for me and the core theme was being branched out to too many unnecessary subjects. So I stopped.
It was just last year I had sudden spike of interest in hosting solutions when I started a business idea. And after seeking not too long, I came across Trap17. Needless to say that my desire to collect all my knowledge base into single place is still within me. I have subscribed to many topics in Trap17 and I have made few topics that I'd like to keep reminding myself. And I can access them when I'm off on the road. There were times when I accessed this forum to fix a computer problem. So, this forum is like my traveling bookmark or external storage space for all key articles for my solution I acquired over the years.
I post in lots of forums,, from wich are mostly gaming forums. I wanna post here as much as possible, but I don't have much to contribute, still I post here as much as I can
I really came to Trap17 for free Hosting and started posting for credits. As time went by I saw many useful information in this forum and decided to contribute to this forum. I agree with BuffaloHELP that this forum acts as a repository of information which I can access from anywhere as well as useful to others.
I got many of my problems solved by posting them here. And I pointed them to those who faced the same problem.
By posting here regularly I've got an online identity and I wish to continue to contribute to this forum as long as I can.
Another important thing that I want to inform here is that this forum helps me to inform the members of any new events of importance that happen on the net and also keeps me informed.
I post in a lot of forums.. probably too many. Sometimes there are interesting topics that I want to reply to. Most of the time, I want to keep my free hosting.. I guess thats the main motivation behind posting here. If it weren't for that, I'd probably be inactive now, from all the times I've come here to post but couldn't find anything to contribute to.. (there have been times when its the opposite, too)
Well, To be honest I post at Trap17 for 3 reasons :
The first one is to keep my hosting credits up, second is to gain knowledge..Yes that is right! I come here and I get to know a lot of things which would be hassle for me..if I go ahead and try to find that information on the web and over here I get all the information in a snap! And the third reason I post over here is that I want to share my ideas, thoughts and want to know what exactly people think about my ideas and thoughts, I also post because it actually helps people bring together and let them share there culture and how exactly they live..So, overall its a mix of the options you've provided here
Well my reason is that I want to be able to keep my free awesome ad-free hosting that you can't get anywhere. I like talking on forums and I do kind of like these forums because their not based on just one topic. If you ever been to a forum that focuses on one thing, it starts to get old and boring. Its nice to be able to talk about many things in your life or just about anything else.
i would like to keep up my hosting credits so that i wont losse my web hosting package on this wonderful host secondly, since trap17 had lived upto my expectations for a good quality web host, i try to contirbute to the forums as asked by trap17 yes, i've been on many other community forums and they are interesting but not as active as the trap17 forums the forums are also very helpful and provide quite a lotta information with good quality opinions from the other trap17 members
Something to do while bored at home/work/etc. I post in many forums on topics that may interest me, yet stick around on those that are interesting, active or has a community of some sort. I find activeness and community can be somewhat important, eg like this forum with a large base and a active post, or a smaller base yet active base (like some sports forums I'm in <shamelessplug>The Colosseum<shamelessplug>(pm for full address if ya want) is one sport forum for example I pop in from time to time. Active posters, yet medium sized user base.
When I first started out I posted for the website and all it's perks, but now I just post because of the skills I have learn could be beneficial to those who sre trying them out for the first time. You oculd say I am a supportive poster, then a website poster.
I post so that i can keep my website up and running for free. I host my personal site on Trap17 because i dont have the resource nor the funds to host all of the website i work with on a domain with private hosting and so forth. However, in doing so i have become quite attached to the Trap17 forum and those who use it. I love posting in it because not only do i get great advice about how i could improve my site but i get the oppertunity to learn about lots of new stories around the world that i otherwise would not be informed about.
Well for awhile my brother had been hosting me on his server, but for the past week it's been
awful, always down, so I've been looking for an alternative. So of course, who else is better
than trap17? So I am back to posting, and trying to get hosting once again.....
Finally after many months of waiting, we have the winners of the trap17 awards, we had 652 votes,
and although some of them were voted multiple times. I did my best to clean those multiple votes

I have searched the forums and I cannot find a thread that posts which themes there are for the
site. I dont mind this theme, but if there are any others could someone let me know? I would love to
apply for free hosting now, and all i have to do is pick my theme. thankz **EDIT** im going to
assume that it meant "theme" as in "what my site is going to be about" lol i thought it meant like a

Well, when I first joined (probably a week ago or something like that) I never had a problem posting

Well, i never thought i'd be saying this but GOODBYE TRAP!&! i have to leave(by force
not by choice!) My semester has come to an end and i don't have marketing anymore...my days

Flashback... Well I was browsing Archive.org and figured what the heck... so I typed in Trap17
and WOW. Would you believe what a long way we have come with the main page and stuff. Also the
quality, if I had seen the main page back in 2001 or 2002 before July 25... it looked bad and looked
like a crappy hosting. But like anything else over time it gets better and we improve on our

I was just going through the last 30 topics created. Most of the topics were not even worth viewing
forget about replying. Why cant we have some meaningful discussions going on here. Why are people
coming here and posting something just for the sake of posting. I am sure that many of the people
coming here are having good technical knowledge which they can share with the other members. Why
dont we have a question / answer seesion where you can ask doubts technical or otherwise. The person

Well? I've been looking for some decent forums as of late. These are nice, but the activity is a
bit low at times. The only other place I really visit often is TalkBass.com. Anyways, if you visit
any other forums, post the name/location of them, and give a short description of what the main
theme of the community is (ex. - Talkbass.com deals with topics for bass players).....

I got hundreds of PM's asking what the hell is trap17, how did I get this name, what does it
mean.. there is also a thread open regarding this. While most of the people are still wondering,
what does trap17 mean ?? Ok! Time to open up the secret! I used to play CS in a gaming
zone at my place called Trap17. I used to waste 8 hours out of my life,everyday in that place and
I kept doing it for about 2-3 years! After which that gaming zone was converted into a Gaming
Shop where now Game CD's are sold. Its name was changed from Trap17 to Cobra! ....
