I used Trap17 for a few months and was extremely happy with the service. I'm currently working as a part-time webmaster and I'm strongly leaning to moving one of my clients over to ComputingHost. However, my Trap17 account didn't support SFTP or SCP, and I feel uncomfortable transmitting business information (and logon information) over an unsecured connection.
Would it be possible to enable either SFTP or SCP (or failing that, even FTPS) on a ComputingHost account?

Yes, ComputingHost accounts have SSH service activated :-)

across computinghost. I like the fact that I can have unmetered email, mysql databases and such not
offered with company x. My first ? is what is the size limit of the mysql databases? or is there a
limit? Also on the bandwidth how much is it extra if I go over? Another thing, many sites now days

Using Tidy With Computinghost
(1) It seems like I may be asking a question or two more in the next few days before I get a computing
host account. Thanks for the quick response on the other one OpaQue. I'm wondering if I could
get either the PHP version of TidyLib ( http://www.coggeshall.org/oss/tidy/ ) or the Perl one (
http://users.rcn.com/creitzel/tidy.html#tidyperl ) installed on an account. The php version comes
integrated with PHP5, but the ComputingHost page says that the accounts use 4.x, so it seems like
it'd have to be installed seperately. Sorry for the strange question, Thanks a....

How Do You Transfer Files Between Servers?
I am interested to get 50 MB package at computinghost. (6) I have few questions to ask. I have two functional websites hosted at two different servers.
Unfortunately I am now short of funds, so i wish to merge the site at one place to reduce hosting
costs. I can take full backup from cpanel on both servers. Say one site is name1.com and other
name2.com. If upon transfer of server, is it possible to backup full websites with MySQL databases
intact? Backing up one such site is not a probem as I guess. If I upload full backup in home
directory and mail admin to restore it for me, it will be a breeze. The problem arises when I thi....
From Trap17 To Computinghost
(6) ok run me through this: I'm opening an account at the Bank of America, getting a debit card,
opening a paypal account all within a short amount of time. Now how do I go about going from Trap17
to ComputingHost? Do I let opaque and trap17 know first? Do I open an account on ComputingHost first
then let this place know so someone can move me over? does it cost anything extra to do so? and I
know some of the cheapest packages there are totally awesome and only $3.33 a month, what's
the catch? Will I be able to use my own ".com" Domain name there if I bought ....
