I just wanted to start a topic about one of the web hosters not mentioned in this website. Po.gs is a website hosting service which offers 500MB hosting with 2GB bandwidth...

The problems:
They do not allow instand account activation (I hate that, but I guess its to reduce spammers from getting in).
They ONLY allow 1 mysql database account.
They dont have java support like trap17.
My Opinion:
Well... I have a website hosted with them and I've been having a hosting this website for 3 years (or more) and nothing wrong yet! Fast servers (very fast), good uptime (very good) and I like the 500MB space!
So, give it a try. I will give my view on trap17 a little later (once I actually get hosted here).
Any idea if they have mod_rewrite on? Seem like a "same-old" hosting site that we've seen on the net in the past years (like 100mb , 95mb, etc) that proves worthless if you are planning on developing a php site. Just my 2 cents
Hi everyone. I just searched if someone has posted a review about hostsnake but it seems that no
one did. So here I am. Before getting here (and even before knowing about trap), I was hosted by
hostsnake.com. The features for the free hosting are : - no ads (interesting) - 5gb of space and
10gb bandwidth - PHP and 5 mySQL databases - one ftp account - your subdomain will look like
http://username.hostsnake.com Anyway, I removed my site from there because .htaccess files
aren't allowed. Moreover, the function mail was disabled, so your site can't send mails....
The graph says it all. Trap17 placed 5th out of 28 Free Web Hosts in a Benchmark test performed in
2006. Not too shabby... For comparison, I set up the same benchmark on my Laptop and the Trap17
results were better by half the average of the test results. My Laptop would have placed around 23rd
on that original test, if those results are still valid as posted. There is a WoW! factor when a
Hosting service can beat a local single user test. Mind you, there is now data transmission
involved, only the results are sent across the web, so as fast as my machine is, the ....
Zymic is a fairly decent host with a good amount of bandwith and storage available and is ad-free.
It has a simple cPanel and does not really offer a lot of advanced features, but you do have PHP and
MySQL with 5 MySQL Databases and Accounts available. They only allow one FTP username though, but
all of your hosting accounts are linked to your Zymic account. They have PHP Safe Mode on though, so
you might have some limited PHP features. I do not know about support because I have not really

I have been looking for a free, good, reliable, and easy to install forum. I would also like to have

just incase for some reason you don't like trap17...... i use it for test pages so i don't
take up unecesary space on trap. it's a good host but i think there having a bit of trouble with
the servers (first time it's happened.....) and you can't upload, the admins are ok so they

I've been looking around Google and it's so hard to find a decent host that doesn't
ban/delete your account for no reason, that has a nice bandwidth/space and doesn't flood your

well, i was using a free hosting service called "gig4free" its an alright site, setup was quick and
relativly easy. But the repeated downtime(like now) has led me to search for a new host. Also, the

Suppose , i have a paid host...which offers me 5GB webspace.. and 250 GB badwidth etc. now , since
