| | I prefer the skin of Invision Power Board than the skin of phpBB but I think Invision Power Board is too slow for low connection whereas phpBB is fast. And phpBB is really easy to skin, you have in the Administration Panel an option to skin it easily. For the moment I wait for Olympus, the next version of phpBB, I am sure they will build a better interface  |

I use phpBB2 too. phpbb2 is more simple and easy to use as compared to the other forum software. However, IPB is more advanced and as mentioned earlier, easier to organize on a large scale as compared to phpBB. IPB is more for the advanced users who can fully utilize the full potential. phpBB2 is for people like me, non-coders. One example would by the control panel. IPB's one is way more advanced than phpbb's. IPB would be good for a computer forum(or something related to computer) and phpBB would be good for the lesser computer inclined community. -Shackman

Yea i like IPB the most because of all the mods you can add to it and all the other features. Though i installed php nuke on my site and it comes with phpbb and so i am trying that out right now. So far im impressed by everything it tries to offer although i cant find many mods for it that i like. I guess ill stick with phpbb for a little while if not i can always change it to IPB. So basically IPB is still better than phpbb because of the mods and advanced interface.

I use phpBB for some forums I administer, and I must say I prefer it over IPB, mainly because it's free, and open source... And we all know that open source is the best  I am eagerly awaitinh new version of phpBB, wich should come out in the summer... It will be a mixure of IPB, phpBB, and some other forums, graphicaly, and functionaly. What is best about phpBB, is that you can add your own code, if you wish to change something, whereas IPB comes encrypted, so, it's not as flexible... At least, in my opinion...

To tell you the truth I really think vB sucks and its way not worth it. I love Invision Power Board and I have v2.0.3 for my community. I have also used punBB which is light wait but not very pretty and no graphics. I also used XMB which was a nice fast graphical baodr but I finally decided I wanted IPB the most so I got it.

IPB all the way. The administration is far better than phpbb, and it has a warn system. As for skins, I think phpbb is definatly easier, but theres no way to edit skins in the AdminCP, although that's supposed to change with the new version. The only reason I use phpbb is because it's free, and while IPB is good, it's not worth the money to me, especially with phpbb being only a few steps behind, and free.

i use the wF gamefaqs spinoff source!  it is very simple, it is very easy to create new files with, and it loads fast because its completely text-based! the only problem is, you'll need to know php to use it, because you have to de-bug and de-exploit it before you make your boards public! it gives me all the features i want; i'm happy with it! although i am in the process of creating my own gamefaqs spinoff source, it'll be awesome... if i ever finish it, lol!

I used to use phpbb, because it was easy and had nice styles and so on, but soon i realized that I want more... Since I don't like ipb so much I installed xmb and i really like it

(1) I want to place a mod on my PHPBB forum. I want to have a shout box, like that here on Trap17, where
if you are not logged in it is hidden, but when you log in you have full access to view it, and to
post inside it. Does anyone here know where I could find a mod like this, on

could change it to appear on every page of the forum (like here, on Trap17), instead of just inside

Forum Troubles
In phpbb (2) I am having forum trouble in phpbb. Whenever I go to post something or add someone to a group or
anything else, I get an error that looks like this: Could not find email template file ::
