My dad chats on Ian Hunter Message Board that is powered by PHPBB! My website at My Webpage is powered by IPB! I like the smileys better on PHPBB forums cos' the invision ones look ugly! IPB is better to set up and you can get direct links as well! I would say apart from the smileys IPB is better!

From the two you put up there, go with ipb. It has way more features on it including calendar, subforums, mods. Just think that if you like trap17's forum a lot then go with ipb. I would prefer vBulletin more than the other two though

I got my first forum at forumer about two years ago and it's still invison power board. Oh man it's powerful. But now I got my forum as phpbb hosted by forumer, but it's so much inferior than ipb you know... So much limits has been done to my forum now but still navigations are still easy to use. However, when I'm referring to my friends, they said it's not good for me to use hosted forums because it's limited too much. You won't see the greatness of the real features available. I hope to make my own phpbb in the future so I can see the full features available for my forum. Right now my forum is so dead... (no new posts over months) I hope to make a great improvements so the people can comeback to my forum or my new forum.

Well, i personally like them both, you see, i have them both on my friends site, One for the clan, one for the main site, (Clan has IPB, Main site has phpBB, becouse the leader of the clan bought us IPB license lol). Now i like phpBB, because you can do allmost evrything with it, its harder to style it then Invision Power Board, thought (Atleast i think so) but it takes more time to install mods on IPB then on phpBB, Since phpBB has EasyMod, something that install mods allmost automaticly. on IPB you have to open and change files. But Invision Power Board is much easyer to skin, has most of the required mods installed and you dont have to install if you dont want to. Also IPB and phpBB is both powerfull, if you install the right mods and make a skin you get IPB off phpBB  . So i voted for IPB thought it wasnt a "Both" choice there, problety because i like IPB most, i dont know why, my friends say that to "Most peoples prefer IPB" but, i dont know if thats true ~ Arne-Christian

I better prefer Invision power board .. but I can't find new version of it to download for free.. but phpBB I can always download new version of phpBB from theyr website.. but the Invision Power Board has more functions so voted for it.. And i don't know any others good forum types..

modifications are working OK. However, I do have a couple of issues I would like to sort out, and I

(7) It is stated that IPB software above 2.0.1 is considered paid software and is illegal to have a copy
unless you purchase a liscense. IPS checks boards by adding ?ipscheck=1 at the end of the address
and if you see --, then it is a trial, #,# would mean its registered, and other messages would

What Are Your Views On Phpbb Or Ipb?
(2) I personally do not like euther of them except for the fact that they are both very secure. But i
think that to many people have them and that they are a little over used. My boards are pretty
common but tghey are not used nearly as much as Invision or PHPBB. And for all of you that aer
ecurious I am running the WhiteFyre source. I think that it looks a little better than the rest of
them and is a little easier to use than the rest of this.

Ok, I Have Downloaded Phpbb....
..... (14) ...but everytime I try to open up any of the phpBB folders, it says something about having to find
out where it came from (what site it came from I mean). I downloaded it from the phpBB site. Does
anyone know an easier way to tell me what to do next? Does anyone know where I can find an equally
nicer forum?....
