Mah, but someone actually overclocked his PC to 6 Ghz, used some sort of chemical to cool it...... lol, it was so funny, but it worked!!
there was a company that would sell you a P4 that was clocked to 5. something Ghz, they used an air condition system that was built into the computer, crazy
As for eXtreme clocking... ir rulez! I just love this kind of things, i just wish I knew mora about hardware, so I could do some of that eXtreme stuff...
ok thats not bad for a box cooler, i got mine from 2.0 to 2.9 with a thermaltake volcano 7, what are you running AMD or Intel? and i saw that on tomshardware too that was crazy, that would be cool to do if i wasnt affraid of turning my hands into glass :-) do you keep yours clocked that high Galahad or just once?
I'm using overclocking ram, they come with little fans built on them so they stay cool.
I overclocked 700 Mhz to 800 Mhz with just 1 fan... The result, the motherboard was damaged! Can't read my two memory. And, when I open my pc, I hear a siren!

I will never ever ever overclock unless I have many coolers! I actualy clocked the machine about 5 hours after I bought it And most current thing... my system is up for 540h 5m 50s I'm just trying to see how long the system will be stable Oh, yes... I'm runing Intel Celeron Latest Entries
I have never overclocked my computer but overclocking the graphics card is easier. I dont risk overclocking the computer its to much money to risk. But i take risks on the graphics card even though its pretty expensive but not as my as my Dell Dimension XPS.
I have heard about it and want to try it but im a bit scared. My PC is 2ghz so i would like to get it to something like 3 or so. Then again im not going to try.
I was just wondering how exactly do you overclock your cpu i tried once on a old pc i think it was an amd i cut some pins physically and then set it into the motherboard turned it on and bam my pc blow up and there was fire and smoke and everything it recked everything and the only thing i could save was my ram the hardrive got burnt the video card melt and well the case was not a cas no more and the cpu was gone lmfao but beforew i try again i want to make sure how to do it so i don't reck my pc this time lol
I do a little, but I don't really need to overclock. My processor runs at 2.85 GHz. That isn't much of an increase from 2.8 GHz. It doesn't run any hotter. Sometimes, I will put it at 2.86 GHz, but I don't "try" to overclock.
My computer is fan cooled, not liquid cooled. My Intel would probably heat up too much if I tried to overclock. I would buy a new processor that was faster to get more speed, not overclock.
After some quick searching I found this thread anyway:
