Cerebral Stasis

| | To your earlier comment about laser printers creating heat, laser printers use lasers hundreds of times more powerful than any laser that would be used in an optical chip. Also, silicon circuits, holding electricity and passing it along by conductivity, allows for some energy to escape in the form of heat, thus causing the chips to become warm. An optical chip, however, wouldn't lose near as much energy to heat (most wasted energy would instead be lost as light), but if the lasers, packed together, did create quite a bit of heat, I doubt it would be much more than any of today's silicon processors.
As for the speed of computing, there will always be programs that can push the limits of a processor. As was said, though, one could always upgrade a computer by simply giving the processor more and more cores, thus breaking down the task and increasing the overall efficiency/speed. |

Cordless Optical Mouse
(12) Breaking completely from the typical design for computer mice, Art. Lebedev’s Mus2 is unique to
say the least. This cursor-shaped optical mouse has 800 dpi optical sensor resolution, up to 2300
fps frame speed, and is compatible with all Windows/Mac OS X systems. Available in black or white
colors, the Mus2 is slated for release this month. “Despite the fact that some people find its
form unusual, Mus2 fits neatly in hand like a normal mouse and doesn’t cause any discomfort.”....
Quantum Physics Discovery
May Bring About Changes In Optical Commu (8) hi there; i've been surfing this morning over the science related topics on the internet as far
as it concerns computers/electronics and i've found an extremely interesting one that may lead
to increase 100 times the speed we communicate(we transfer information). This would change lots of
things :)Anyway i would like to share it with you and i hope in several years this will become
usual: -here's the link: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2005/...51029100150.htm ....
Multi-core Processors
(8) I know it hasn't been a very popular topic as far as advertising and discussion with the media
and such goes, however recently an awesome new product came out... The title of the post rather
gives it away, but it is a Multi-Core processor... for those who arent aware of what it is, it looks
alot like a heatsync, only it fits into the spot on your motherboard designed for your processor...
This instead, holds 4 processors... You can also buy attatchments for it to hold more, however with
4, it increases your computer's potential like no other. To give an example o....
