I would prefer to key in a password of my WWWI when i open my web browser and after a world wide web authentication i get signed into the web. No matter what site i visit i should be recognized and should be able to access the web resources without breaking things. Irrespective of your usage of a service, there will be an identity for you in every service... There can be a compromise in this like having a profile for a service that is used rather than a wide single profile.
Problems
Yes, of course there are some issues with this. In fact many problems in implementing or taking this ahead. Some that i have considered and addressed...
1. Do you really think that the present WWW is organised for this to work?
Ans: Definitely no. If not for search engines, lots of information will be useless and lost. There is no organisation in content, relation, similarities and hierarchy. Put yourself in a situation where you do not have a search engine and you have to know what a Webinar** means?. You will go to wikipedia? Sorry, the time i write this, Wikipedia do not have an article (You can write one...) to explain what webinar is. So after few more guesses you will run out of options... That's the present WWW.
Solution: You should read what semantic web(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semantic_Web) is
Experts say that the WWW needs a complete re-architecture and wondering how the current architecture is working...
For WWWI to work as expected there should be an proper organization and hierarchy of contents in web. If things work so fine in WWW now, that people don't even realize the problems, the concept of WWWI is definitely possible.
2. What will happen to the current system of authentication mechanism?
Ans: That too needs a re-architecture. This is not so complex i should say when considering the current happenings. Ask your cerebrum if it can remember what Open ID is? If you know what it is then skip the next few lines.
Open ID
Open ID can be used as your online identity across sites that support this. So, its not always necessary to open an account to do certain things on a site that support open id. Those who use Live Journal (Blogging platform), must be aware of this as they introduced this.
This is being adopted by many online service providers...In few years, it will be enough to remember only one ID and can be used across many providers... More info in the below link... Also, few days back (last week) Blogger started to support Open ID. So, you need not have a blogger account to add comments etc in blogger or any other domain.

3. Do people/organisations will conform to the new standards?
Ans: That's the biggest and toughest problem that has to be faced. If this hurdle can be crossed your WWWI is not so far away.
4. Technical Issues?
Ans: Any technical difficulty can be solved if something has to be achieved. So this won't pose a big problem.
There are more problems that i have not addressed here. But the concept as such will be very nice in practical. I wish i can have an online identity soon...
