Never Join Any Traffic Generation Program!

mayank
Well, do you really think that the traffic generation will work ?

Free traffic generation program may generate traffic for you however, that traffic is of no use at all. Because people actually visit other sites just for the reason to earn points..so that other members of same program can visit their websites and like this the loop goes on and on...people visit each others site without reading anything and thus that visit is of no use at all!

so, do you think that this kind of traffic is of any use to you and joining these traffic generation programs will help you ?

I will discuss the tips which actually helps generates the traffic in the next post, but meanwhile you can think over this and don't forget to post your thoughts on this!

during the heydays of the dotcom bubble years ago (before it crashed tongue.gif), i have dabbled in several traffic generation programs. i would agree it's just a waste of internet time, and a waste of bandwidth. it simply inflates the amount of traffic you receive, with no eyeballs really connecting to your website to spend time in it and make it fruitful for you. in the end, you will just consume all your available bandwidth with nothing to show for it. i've wisened up over the years, and no longer rely on traffic generation programs for my sites... i just "let it be" and simply rely on word-of-mouse and word-of-mouth biggrin.gif

I have never tried these traffic generation programs and I would never do because I think the visits you get are for nothing if people is not really interested on your site. I suppose that is good for people with useless websites whon only want their advertises to be seen and earn money that way, but not if your web is seriously based in your contents.

The short version of mayank's posting is:

Traffic generation services are a waste of time and bandwidth.

Also if they sent users to your site its usually the wrong users like spam bots, hackers and script kiddies. Bad idea...also the sites you see on these traffic sites no one would want to view them as the designs so bad.

he he, Jim! you summed up all the post in one single line. I guess that really is saving the time and energy and I am really bad at that when I want to explain things, I just write too much or speak too much...maybe making the things boring.

Anyway, it seems that most of the people agree to me on this part that these traffic generation programs of no use at all. So, do we discuss the good traffic generation techniques in next post or would you like to mention anything about these traffic generation programs???

Occasionally, if they are a manual surf, they can bring people to your site. Rarely, though, will anyone join or use your service if your website isn't free. They can also help boost your traffic ranking making your site seem more desirable since its higher up on the visited list.

Yes, but these people are not targeted enough to waste your time on, considering the time it takes to surf.

Again this doesn’t help much sad.gif

The content should drive traffic and nothing else. That is the only thing that would last. A good site would more often than not be found and dugg or delicious-ed or stumbled upon. That would be more than enough to drive traffic to your site , wouldn't it? Anyways Content and presentation are the only reasons one browses various sites. So that is what you should be providing. Traffic generators anyway don't generate much traffic. So they are of no use.

i agree with half of the argument. traffic generating programs are not the best method to generate traffic, but they still work smile.gif i've only belonged to two (instant buzz and traffic swarm) and the both were succesfull campaigns.

the problem already noted is that you recieve credits the more pages you view or visit. others do the same which in turn is hard to convert the traffic in to people viewing your page for over a minute.

secret is to have an eye catching page. some people create doorway pages with these traffic generating programs because their home page will never be as catchy as a doorway page.

so with with these programs, there is more work to create an eye grabbing page to keep a user on your site for more than a minute. yes, it's a lot of work at first because most of the programs include an mlm concept in how to distribute credits. you will get the most credits NOT by manually surfing, but what the other people below you do so you have to build an organization within the traffic generating program AND concentrate on the page you want everyone viewing.

now once in a while, you will get a few people who stay on your page because they are interested in what they saw for the 30 seconds or so. these are the people you target. i'd say about 1% will stay longer than required. if you have a 5% conversion rate, then you will need to drive approximately 2,000 people from these traffic generating programs to make 1 sale. now from experience, this adds up depending on how much you are selling your product for. if you're selling it for $5, then it is probably not worth it. if selling something for $50, it may be worth it to ya. anything over that should definately be worth it. why?

because after i had a downline, everything was automatic with very little work. i was averaging a couple thousand page views a day and was making about .75 sales every day.

if you do the #'s, there is an average of 30 days in a month. if you are selling a product for $50 then you would gross $1500-the cost of the product as profit in 1 month.

so i am telling you that traffic generating programs DEFINATELY work. BUT!!! and a big BUT!!! they will not work if you don't put a fulltime effort in to them in the beginning which includes always contacting your downline to surf for credits(at least 100 a day). people who quit after 3 months will not see a big difference. people who are persistant and dedicated and don't quit after that usually are the ones succeeding. it takes about 6 months of dedicated fulltime work to promote and that's with ANY business anyway.

how long did it take you to create your website? how much time do you put in to updating it? hand submitting to the major search engines and how much time is it taking you to make it search engine friendly? fact is, you spent a whole HECK of a lot of time and work if your doing it right. that's the amount of time needed to market it in other places. traffic generating programs is one area and that's the topic here.

so i agree. if you quit after a month or two, i agree. they don't work and will not work. but i disagree if your dedicated and do it right. my personal example was 2 years ago or so and took me a year or so before that to work on my own system that would work in my case.

i have let things go extremely in the past year or so but i can't believe things have changed so much that they don't work. everyone is still using them. i was bringing in over $1,000 a month just from 2 traffic generating programs. one program showed 1 page of my website and the other just places a one line ad that people had to click to see my page. both worked. at at first, but in the long run they did.

now people who want to tell me they don't work are quiters or people who didn't have enough time to run a business or people who didn't know how to go about marketing it correctly. either way, they quit and now telling people it doesn't work

so let me ask a question. do you take the advice of quiters your whole life or take the advice of people who succeeded? let me go further. do you take the advice of the people who succeeded or do you dedicate a year to be the best you can be and see for your only self with a WINNER mentality? if you want it bad enough, you can accomplish just about anything. you are only limited to how you limit your own self. this is good advice in every day life as well. take it. it WORKS!

I agree with this. You should depend on your site content to draw people. It's all right to join link lists and stuff, but traffic generation defeats the real purpose of generating any traffic at all.

I tried one Traffic Generation program but it didn't really do all that much for me. It brought a few more people to the site but of course no one really stayed. The programs are really just meant to have more visitors to display and maybe raise your rank on search engines. Other than that they are worthless. I think a Top Site feature with people looking for similar sites is really the best way to go or an Affiliate system.

I imagine it's kind of like MLM schemes. May work for some people in the chain but not for others. Or maybe for a while the plan will work but sooner or later the ever evolving nature of the internet beast will change and this won't work anymore. Think of all those little classified ads you see in every newspaper and magazine asking for $2 plus SASE to get the worlds hottest chili recipe. Now some of those really are by some little old lady somewhere down south but some are just people looking to get you involved in a MLM plan. The worst of these is an ad asking for nothing but maybe a SASE for more information then you get a flyer type direct marketing piece explaining how to start your own small business using small classified ads like the one you answered. "Only 19.95 for the kit" and the kit is nothing more than examples of other classified ads you can run to make money. The old pyramid MLM scam can take many forms so beware because it can look like something online such as a traffic generating site.
Notice from Plenoptic:
I deleted the double post. It was 7 minutes apart so I'm giving the benefit of the doubt and saying that Trap must have gone down so the first time it was submitted it went to a Error Page. If this ever happens check your post to make sure double posting doesn't happen and if it does please report it.
